go to portforward.com find the model of your router (probably be on a sticker on the bottom) and follow the instructions on the site. If you still cant manage it PM me and il go through every step manually if you want

Hi,
You need to access your router config, find the NAT menu and enable and open the following ports, which are the settings for Xbox live
Protocol Start Port End Port
UDP 88 88
UDP 3074 3074
TCP 3074 3074
UDP 2074 2074
TCP 2074 2074
This should give you an 'Open' rather than 'Restricted' connection when accessing live, which is what I suspect is causing you the problem at the moment.
Failing that, or in addition to the above, you could open the DMZ, (again should be a menu in your router config), and enter the IP address that the Xbox is using and you will find this address detailed in the Network settings on your Xbox. Doing this basically let's all traffic through to the Xbox.
Problem with this is if you have a network and are using DHCP to automatically assign IP addresses, to laptops, consoles etc, the IP address may change when you switch on your Xbox and so it will differ from the IP address you originally put in the DMZ. To avoid this, you may be able to use your router to fix / bind an IP address to the Xbox Mac Address (this is also found within the XB network settings), so that the IP address assigned to the Xbox never changes. However this can be bit tricky, unless you know what you are doing and depending on your router.
So try opening the ports first and hopefully that will do it.
Good luck,
Steve
