Default Blue Tooth OBD Dongle and phone apps

Has anyone used a Blue Tooth OBDII dongle such as this one with a phone app such as Torque on the android? Do they work well? I'm especially interested if people have used them on a classic Impreza.

Think I'll have a pop with the cheaper version. £150 for a blue tooth OBD dongle and a phone app is a stupid price.

Torque is a free app from the Android market, just has ads on it. Although it's only £3 to buy ad free version, doesn't look as polished as the innovate one, but does the same. Then I was going to buy one of these:

There are cheaper ones on eBay, but this is a v1.4 if that makes any difference? I'm just wondering if the dongle will be ok to use on a classic Impreza?
