Forgot to add, I'll be probably getting ported headers and matching uppipe from Harvey at the same time. Should I go for 2.5 or 3 inch exhaust?

That's the system I use on my classic combined with Laterals GT spec manifold and up-pipe.
I'm very happy with it and Tim at scoobyparts is a nice guy to deal with.
I went from a Miltek system to the tornado 3", I found the Miltek a bit quiet for my liking but didn't want the in your face noise of a Nur spec. The Tornado is perfect for my taste, loud enough to sound nice without being over the top and still has a nice burble.

I've just fitted full 3" system, you will notice massive increase in power, also fitted the unequal lengh manifold, not sure how much diffrence the manifold makes as fitted at sametime.

Saying that might just need running in i'm not sure, my old system was near enough standard but had nice rumble, see if some else can shed any light on this.

Before I bought the Tornado system I stuck a thread up asking if anybody else was using it. I didn't get any replies but decided to give it a go anyway.
Was very pleased that I did and with the GT SPEC manifold it sounds awesome at full chat. Yes it's a slightly higher pitch noise but I prefer it, combine that with the better spool and it's worth every penny.

do you have an idea of what you are after? full on noise? noisey when booting it? or just a nice scooby note?
Also what power are you aiming for? if going for 400bhp plus i would have thought the 3" system would be more beneficial for you.
Your best bet is to also speak to harvey, he maybe able to advise on a system to suit your needs.
fyi - i have a japspeed 3" open mouth decat that goes to a 2.5" cobra resonated centre (so no cabin drone) & a scoobyworld ninja 2 backbox. Basically its a nice sounding, burbly but not too loud & irritating for the neighbours but it lets rip when you give it some beans

That sounds spot on, with my full 3" system the burble has seemed to disaper, although its not silly loud as expecting, with is good, but prefer the sound i use to have on the old setup, just wanted it deeper burble

Any sound clips?

I'm running decatted, heat wrapped downpipe with resonated centre section and Ninja back box. I'm looking for something just a bit louder than that and won't be going for more than 320bhp at the moment so... Tell me, will ported headers and uppipe (both heat wrapped) change the sound ? I'm guessing it will but how much ?
Cheers

Oh, forgot to ask, does it matter what size is the downpipe? Asking because mine is 2.5 inch NoT 3 as most of downpipes. Will that affect on performance some how ?

possibly change the ninja (1 i presume?) for a vortex - i had one on my old scoob & sounding very nice, deep, adequatley loud & burbly & that was with a HKS 3" d/pipe to a 2.5" afterburner resonated centre. Went for a ninja 2 this time as i did not want the volume as a little one is on its way! so the ninja 2 is great for my needs
If you just want a great really very loud scooby burble - as mentioned get a blitz!
harveys your man to say about sound change on the ported pipes

Next time you have a crack at it try starting from tick over first then rev then drive off, gets a good idea of full range of sounds. It didn't help that i had speakers turned up Will have try and get one up here myself.

If you want something a bit louder, just get an un-resonated centre section.

The ported headers won't make much difference to the sound, but they will make a BIG difference to performance. You don't need a 3" system unless running over 350bhp, so stick with your 2.5" and put your money towards getting a good suspension set-up. That is where you will get the biggest gain for your £'s on the Impreza .

I have used 2.5" on both a Version 6 RA and an S202, both running 340bhp+ with no restriction
