Default anyone in the clackmaninshire area or recomend a good garage

right went to see this car today i knocked him down abit as the oil if filthy it needs changed only needs taxed and its been sitting for 3 weeks

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1899477.htm

ive bought it on one condition when i started from cold sounded amazing no tappet rattel or anything water temp got up fan came on evrything fine left it running while i looked at the service history when i heard a little knocking from pass side when you reved it went away guy has just had the engine rebuilt he was adamint it wasnt the bottom end but i still need to check this he heard it too so its not just me apart from that the car is mint had a hell of a lot of money thrown at it and recipts for it all to

i need to know if there is a good garage around that i can take it to to check this out or if one of you nice members that know there stuff could help might be able to throw you a tenner or somthing am sure its nothing have heard they can be like this just dont have enough experience with the boxer engine

the guy is getting rid of the car cause he has spent a fortune on it then the bottom end went and there is recipts there for over 3k to show it been rebuilt

any info would be gr8

I know the guy selling the car and I am sure the work was done by Duncan at hypertech in bonnybridge. I would suggest he is the best person to speak about the work carried out and any possible noise you can hear.

Paul.

the guy was quality 2mins on the phone with him he starts talking about if hes doing a rebuild he pumps a liter of oil into the oil switch port so i goes into all the oil gallaries before a restart now that is attention to detail have never heard of that before but makes total sence in my opinion that is what you want to hear from a mechanic

looking forward to tomorrow guy must be a wealth of knowlage on the boxer engine plus who knows what else as long as its from the land of the rising sun lol

Your plate's fine. It's just because you originally said it was on a 51 plate but it isn't, it's an X which it right for it's age as a 2000 model first reg'd in Feb 2001. The plate coincidentally has the numbers 51 on it, but that doesn't make it a 51 plate!

http://www.ukcar.com/features/reg_year.htm

Here you go, this confirms the standard plate letters by month and year. A car can have a private plate transferred on but only from same or a previous age period, so the car could not be made to look newer than it is.
