i think without a decat a panel filter it is a little optimistic but with those mods it is completely viable, my own car with a chip made 293bhp with only a decat and panel filter and that didnt make 1.1 bar on the rollers, the only problem with the add is the price, the esl generic map board was only £195 when new, and is now old hat some places may be able to tune them still, but why would you want to when you could have the ESL live fitted and mapped for not a lot more.

You made 293Bhp @ less than 1.1 Bar on a Uk classic running a TD04 ?????

here is the graph from the 293 run with a tdo5 please excuse the date it was actually14/5/09, i cant see anywhere i said i had a tdo4 or i said the the ecu in the link would be a tdo4 and make 300bhp? as the all early uk classics had tdo5 as standard.

To be fair the ECU for sale states UK car...
From the description the power increase is utter bollocks or rolling road gospel 
which is the point Bods was making.
TD05 on a mapable chip would make this you are correct but you can't change the parameters just to validate your point

Included in this listing is a JECS ECU with an Esl static chip, the chip is mapped to suit 99ron fuel, modified ignition timing and fuelling to suit 1.1bar. it will only fit imprezas that are pre 96 version 1 and 2. the chip took my old UK Turbo from 208bhp to 296bhp with no other modifications. cost wise works out the cheapest mod for the gain in bhp, email me for any questions.

So that more of a 57bhp increase. Possible, but it'd need a full decat to go with it as well. (think mine ran 257bhp after the full decat, and it was still running silly rich).
