Its a ScoobyECU: either an original one or a new Polar Performance part. Scott Taylor is/was behind both, so youll be better off talking to him. ESL now work with Scott, but they had nothing to do with the original ScoobyECU at all.
In fairness: having only supplied a crap small picture and little worthwhile information: youve not helped yourself have you?

im pretty sure these arnt mappable just a generic chip, as said though best person to talk to would be Scott T at Polar Perfomance as he was one of the creators of the Scoobyecu, with full decat tdo5 with a good condition engine you probably see about 280/290 id say

Hundreds and hundreds of people have a ScoobyECU either an early one or a Polar Perfromance one, and I suspect that virtually all are happy.
We do - a number of people have clearly said that its a 'ScoobyECU', which is not a 'live mappable' product.

Its much better than a Z4, but its a generic product. The mappable board that ESL developed (with Scott, I think) is always going to be better, but its well short of the original ECUs value for money, in my opinion. By the time youre done the ESL kit will cost almost as much a an A'PEXi PowerFC ECU used to cost!
Remember too that the ESL board would have needed mapping to suit your own car (the very point of a live-mappable solution over a generic solution) and thisd have cost you a further £250-ish. This would have been necessary as the existing settings might have been so unsuitable for your car as to have killed it. The beauty of a generic ScoobyECU is that theyll give you a still-substantial improvement, whilst suiting all cars.
Scott Taylor (Scott T. here) will be able to tell you exactly what is what.

JECS Z4 ECU = 255bhp - Any early Classic JECS ECU + ScoobyEU = 260 - 300bhp, depending on your car and turbocharger. Your car will be at the higher end as it has a larger turbo.
