dont no much about ecus it says on it scoobyecu.co.uk he says its a esl daughterboard mapped by scoobyclinic ??
|
|
You could always PM The Gaffer Kev at Scoobyclinic and ask him directly.
or Speak to Andy at ESL HTH |
pmd the gaffer it looks like all the esl daughterboards are green so how is this one red???
thanks |
i saw this on ebay it didn't say anywhere about it being a esl board.
|
it said on ebay genuine ecu daughterboard but he sent me a message saying was a esl daughterboard so what is it ive bought and was it worth it compared to my z4 ecu it also says its mappable and i believe my z4 isnt
thanks for replys peeps |

dosent look like my ESL daughterboard. mines green.....
|
after sum searching its a ecu daughterboard anyone no if this is remappable if i add further mods as was mapped by scoobyclinic to 320 bhp with caik decat and td05 so the guy says
|
any more info anyone??
thanks |
i thought more people new about ecus ???
|
thats not the esl remappable board
|
Its a ScoobyECU: either an original one or a new Polar Performance part. Scott Taylor is/was behind both, so youll be better off talking to him. ESL now work with Scott, but they had nothing to do with the original ScoobyECU at all.
In fairness: having only supplied a crap small picture and little worthwhile information: youve not helped yourself have you? |
ok heres a better pic if it works what kind of ecu is it as is it remappable for further mods as has been remapped already to 320 so the guy said with a decat ik and td05 or have i just wasted my money
http://i624.photobucket.com/albums/t...ghterboard.jpg |
was remapped by scoobyclinic so the guy says
|
come on guys sum one must no about these ecus
|
im pretty sure these arnt mappable just a generic chip, as said though best person to talk to would be Scott T at Polar Perfomance as he was one of the creators of the Scoobyecu, with full decat tdo5 with a good condition engine you probably see about 280/290 id say
|
how do i get hold of scott is he on here?? has anyone else on here got this ecu??
thanks |
|
Hundreds and hundreds of people have a ScoobyECU either an early one or a Polar Perfromance one, and I suspect that virtually all are happy.

how different does it compare to my z4 ecu and is it worth keeping or have i wasted my money compared to the z4 that i have as hadnt fitted this ecu yet as dont want to till i find out more info about it i no i no should of done my homework before i bought it or and asked on here also how cant it be remapped once but not a second time soz i dont no much about ecus not yet anyway im learning
thanks |
Its much better than a Z4, but its a generic product. The mappable board that ESL developed (with Scott, I think) is always going to be better, but its well short of the original ECUs value for money, in my opinion. By the time youre done the ESL kit will cost almost as much a an A'PEXi PowerFC ECU used to cost!
Remember too that the ESL board would have needed mapping to suit your own car (the very point of a live-mappable solution over a generic solution) and thisd have cost you a further £250-ish. This would have been necessary as the existing settings might have been so unsuitable for your car as to have killed it. The beauty of a generic ScoobyECU is that theyll give you a still-substantial improvement, whilst suiting all cars. Scott Taylor (Scott T. here) will be able to tell you exactly what is what. Simon |
JECS Z4 ECU = 255bhp - Any early Classic JECS ECU + ScoobyEU = 260 - 300bhp, depending on your car and turbocharger. Your car will be at the higher end as it has a larger turbo.
