Default Insurance quote, any good?

I just got quoted the highest quote ive ever had on this my first scooby, £338 fpft with the wife on the policy from HIC.

Trouble is this is £100 more than my e36 M3 so is it a case of the image they reflect to insurance companys?

I only bought the car as a summer toy lol.

Thats not a bad quote for a group 20 car, you should go fully comp though, wont be that much more expensive depending on your age

34 with Mrs on 08 STI and about 500ish FC, so I would be very happy with 338, but as said FC will not be much more than TPFT.

Fair enough, i thought it was a bit much being both 38 and no history of any problems, but i guess these are more expensive to insure than other performance saloons.

I tried Aplan but they were at the top end of £400 so defo not a cheap insurance company.

I didn't know imports were more to insure? why?

Tried A-plan and was very upfront and appoligetic that he could not beat flux's quote.

I tried Keith Micheals last year, cant remember who i spoke to but just did not seem intrested in even giving me a quote, so feel a lil put of them tbh.

Cheapest I could get anywhere was A-Plan by over £100 and also had a lower excess than everywhere else, didnt get the chance to try keith michaels tho as can never get hold of them to get a quote.

Import impreza's are generally a higher spec than UK models.

Keith Michaels were the cheapest for me this year having just renewed on the 4th, JDM S202 with mods declared was £525.00 with limited mileage policy (5000 miles), two named drivers.

I tried A Plan and they could not even get near the highest priced policy from Keith Michaels which was £575.00.

I tried A Plan last year and they were a lot more expensive than Keith Michaels, I always speak to Gary Moulson who will search out the best deals.

Well i'm going to stay with HIC who use Highway insurance as they have now quoted me £330 all in with a pretty low excess.
I hope to run the car from May over the summer. Funny thing is while i was at work today a chap knocked on the door and asked the wife to phone me to see if i would sell it! I've had plenty of cars over the years and have never had that happen.
