I used to think that my car looked like it was trying to be a P1, because its a 1999 sonic blue turbo 2000 with the P1 bodykit on it. So it looks like a 4-door P1.

But after months of searching pistonheads, ebay & autotrader I realised that i'd never seen another turbo 2000 in sonic blue? but have seen loads of P1s?

Ive only seen 1 other 1999 turbo 2000 in sonic ....... cant remember exactly but sure it wasnt a uk car and may have been austrailian market...I nearly bought it but was a little over my price at the time.

wow you're right, I went on irish autotrader, and they've got 1 2000 sonic blue turbo. Still that's 1 more than any of the uk used car sites!

i live in ireland and have the exact same one also, quite hard to find a 4 door sonic blue in that year, mines a 00 model.

I had a MY00 Sonic Blue Turbo 2000 and it came from Holland and back in 99-01 when I had mine they were a few knocking about as it was a few £k cheaper to import from Holland than UK where that colour was not available.

just had a look, I've got a nice blue folder full of stuff all printed in dutch. Including this manual about the size of a novel, looks like it'd be quite interesting by looking at the pictures, shame I cant read it.

IIRC Sonic blue wasn't available in UK as the colour was reserved for a p1, hence those Turbo 2000 cars in Sonic were Euro imported.

Same goes with Aqua Blue. These were reserved for the WR1 in the UK, but there were many Euro import blobeye WRXs floating about sporting the Aqua blue paint.

So yes, in theory your car is rarer than a P1 since it's an import

I had a year 2000 sonic blue turbo Wagon. It also came form Holland when new, I never saw another sonic blue MY00 wagon (non sti) on the road in the 2 years I had it. In fact I've only ever seen one other sonic wagon for sale (currently on autotrader) in many years of looking. The strange thing is (before I owned it) my car lived 2 miles down the road from me in the same town!

sonic blue or 74f code has three different shades at least as i have a terzo my mate has sti type r and his father in law has a p1 all the same code but very different shades

I imported it myself in October 2000 and still have it -- (only 42000 on the clock as well) -- rarer than Rocking Horse Sh*t...............
