Default Which Impreza For Me?

Just a quickie...

Which Blobeye's and Hawkeye's came with the DCCD?

From what i can work out its WR1's, RB320's, and Spec C's. Is this correct, and did all Spec C's come with it?

Im still undecided how far I'm gonna go with modding it when i get it but if its anything like when I got my RX7 then I'm gonna end up changing my plans within weeks of purchase so i want to make sure it's a good platform to build from just in case.

My budget is around the £15k for the car alone, any suggestions?

I'm also wondering how much different are the Spec C's to normal STI's? I understand the boots are stripped and house a larger water tank, and the windows are thinner. Does it effect its use as a daily runner (more road noise etc...)?

Cheers again guys.

JDM's from 2003 (not all models, there was a GL/KL?) version, one had the A-DCCD and one didnt (lower spec, no drivers pack).

Spec C's are noisier, no sound proofing but cars from 2005 all had the same geometry set up (wider track), but they normally hold a premium of about 3k over a normal STI of that same age.
Do they make a good daily driver? they are harsher, noisier, have more uprated parts than a standard STI and earlier cars have less goodies (central locking and electric windows were not standard), so you have to make your own mind up there
JDM's will be a higher spec and are twin scroll 2ltr engines (better performance, more torque, more drivable) over uk cars.

Excellent reply, thanks Tony.

If i was to get a non DCCD'd car, would i be able to fit an aftermarket diff control system like the one from MOTEC? Do all cars have the DCCD switchgear even if they dont have it working?

Too much hassle getting a none dccd version, plus most had the dccd-a, but there are one or 2 that don't, so you just have to watch out for them, that's all (normally they are blob eye versions, all jdm and uk hawks should have them fitted as standard

Ok thats awesome, thanks again Tony. I just like the idea of being able to have the Diff open most the time.

DCCD was standard in all UK STIs from 2006 onwards (i.e. all hawkeye STIs). I think it was only available in the WR1 for UK blobeyes.

Also the MY05 UK STI blobs had DCCD as standard, optional on EU models.

The JDM STi with the drivers pack is the 'GL' which included the DCCD-A and quick rack steering rack.

Right, is there a difference between DCCD and DCCD-A?

Dccd-a is fitted to new age cars (a stands for auto) from 2003, dccd is just the term used, saves adding the a at the beginning or end when referring to it, but if your fussy dccd cars were mainly classics (sti type r or ra) or my01/02 type type ra.
