Default Fuel tank ?

How much fuel is left in reserve in the tank when the light comes on ??? I drove for 15 miles with the fuel light on and it took 48ltrs to brim my tank. Do I only have a 50ltr tank

If yours is a spec c. and from your 'garage' it would appear so, then I thought they only had a 50ltr tank..?

My 05 wrx iirc has a '55ltr' tank, but even if I drive 20+ miles on the orange light (needle down past middle of 'E'- light doesn't always come on at same fuel reserve..!) I'd struggle to get 48ltrs in. There's obviously more reserve (~9ltr/2gallon), but I wouldn't chance it..

FWIW, none spec c's have a 'double' tank (smaller secondary tank next to main tank under n/s rear seat) which gives them the extra capacity.

I thought it was a 60litre tank in the newages? I've really ran on the light for a long time in my old blob WRX, and managed to get 58litres back in.

Why would you do this ?
I'm not trying to be funny but just asking if there is a reason ? Myself whenever it shows anything under a 1/4 of a tank I'll start looking to fill up.

I was under the impression that if you run your tank low you run the risk of blocking the injectors with the rubbish thats @ the bottom of the tank.
Or was this only a issue with the early injector systems in car's ?

I always run to the orange light, between 10-20 miles on it before re-fuelling. Been doing this for 46k at 350ish bhp without problem. Now if you we're to run out completely that might be an issue..!

You do realise that the fuel pump pick-up in the tank has a filter sock on it..? Oh and there's a thing called the fuel filter which is in line before any fuel enters the engine..?!

Mine coughs and f*rts when it's down to 3 litres, but 5 or less means no acceleration...

When your running low on fuel and a shell garage isn't in sight anywhere!

This has happened to me loads of times in the car and the van and they are both perfectly fine

All this talk about rubbish at the bottom of the tank, do these people think the fuel is sucked from the top of the tank or something ?
