Default mobile mechanic or help in Lincoln area

Hi guys,

Anyone know of anyone that can come help me fix my car in Lincoln area.
Willing to pay, so mobile mechanic, whoever really.

Just done an engine change and it hasnt gone according to plan. It wont start. Checked all the usual stuff, but nothing. Im at the end of the road and im getting annoyed with it. im no mechanic and need some who is more technical minded to have a look.

Any help would be great.

Forgot to mention. Needs to be ASAP. (the car fixing, not the help )

Silly question but has the fuel cut of switch kicked in ? Can you turn the engine over by hand ?

I am no where near but some more clues of what or what is not going on may help ?

fuel is still being pumped through, although i have been told it may not be pressurised enough. It probably is something really really stupid that i have done, but i cant for the life of me figure out what.

if you read this it will give you what i have tried

Ok the reason I ask about the seller is I have seen lots of engines get sold by "Genuine nice people" that are fooked! Happens all the time mate! I shall read what you have tried!

Another thing is the crank sensor good or bad and can you get another 1 to try even to borrow ? (They may look ok but you can never tell!)

the crank and cam sensor came from my original engine as the ones that came with the engine had the wrong connectors on the top and they wouldnt plug into my wiring loom, so changed them around.

I have also swapped wiring loom and inlet manifold from my V2 engine to put on the V1 engine i bought as the main plug at the back was different and i couldnt plug it in

Ok another thought "Had a similar thing happen on the cossie" Is the gearbox earth strap on making a GOOD earth ?

You may not think that would do naff all but it does trust me! Small thing I know but its free to check it!

I am starting to think it's the wiring but also starting to think it's the timing! I would suggest checking the timing belt is on in the correct order as if you have a tooth out it might of bent a valve "Hence" the not starting!

Not dissing the seller but things do hapen!

You swapped the sensors, but are the actual pulleys the same as yours ? I'm no expert on classic Imprezas, but if the sensors were altered year on year then that would include a change in the pulleys as well !

IMHO

well when i spoke to API engines earlier today, all they said was that you keep like with like, so the wriring stays with the car and the cam pulleys stay with the engine.

As far as im aware they are the same, although i measured the cam sensor and the one in the new engine was slightly smaller.

The mechanic whole is helping rebuild our rally car is very very good, he works at a main dealer in Lincoln but also helps out in other areas, including quite a bit of motorsport. He has just rebuilt the engine on our scoob and we refitted it recently.

I'm seeing him tomorrow morning so if you PM me your details I'll see if he can help. I live in Lincoln (as does he at the moment). Have a look at NDR Rallying - NDRRallying.co.uk to see the car we are rebuilding, I've also put it under projects as well. Pics need updating.

Cheers Dennis
