I'm looking at getting a Euro Impreza - but need a car shortly as I've sold mine, and wife doesn't want to wait 5 months to import another. Trade-Sales and Tins say their cars are from Cyprus, so no Subaru warranty, and prob a load of hassle from dealers for servicing etc.

So where can I get an Impreza from Holland/Belgium etc that's new, and in stock, in the UK? Anyone got any good ideas/contacts?

Try a car supermarket. They're usually a bit more expensive than importing direct. But have them in stock

This question of cars from Cyprus has come up before. I know Cyprus is not (yet) in the EU, but if a dealer there can source a true UK-spec car I don't see what difference it makes. Does anyone have an authoritative answer on this ?

This page from a dealer in Cyprus certainly suggests the cars they source are EU-spec:

thanks guys - Trade Sales and Tins said their Cyprus-sourced cars were sold without a Subaru warranty, but with their own 1 yr warranty - doens't fill me with confidence - but also worried about dealer reaction to cars sourced from outside the EU, even tho EU spec

Makes you wonder what price they are paying for them ! Certainly Trade Sales source other makes inside the EU - our Alfa 156 s/wagon came from Germany for example.

Keyring Cars www.keyring-cars.co.uk/forum.html have short order cars for about £18000, best price I've seen.
Virgin www.virgin.com/cars and Alliance www.alliancecarimports.co.uk often have cars in stock.

No connection etc. etc. ... good luck.

I bought mine from Autolink in Maidstone.

Car fine - sourced from Belgium, so no worries about the warranty,

They are advertising them at £17 995, they may have them in stock, not sure. www.autolink.co.uk or 01622 66 11 11.

If you do end up getting one from them, do me a favour and say I recommened you. I'll get 50 quid for my troubles!

I noticed in Autocar that Keyring cars mention that they have some cars in stock (or coming in soon).

I got a MY02 import from Belguim through them - the service was excellent.

Cheers

E.
