Default quick question - does anyone powder coat parts of their vehicle ?

I have nothing to sell, but I'm curious to know if anyone uses the special paint process called powder coating on any parts of their vehicles ?

If so, would you mind telling me which parts you applied it to ?

Thanks chris - so what were your reasons for choosing powder coat over normal paint ? Better finish ?

The reason I'm asking is a friend who's a master powder coater. I won't mention his name or his company. His business is particularly quiet at the moment and I don't think he's ever considered car owners as potential business customers.

Do you think its popular these days to use powder coating on your various car bits ?

To be honest, I don't know why people use powder coating over normal paint to be honest. I'd guess at a better finish yeah.

Maybe he/you could speak to a mod to see if he can advertise on here? For mail order painting.....I.e. We'd post bits to him to be painted, he'd do it at a decent price and post them back. I'd say he'd have to have a good turn around really.
Not sure if people would want to use him like that, but suppose it opens more doors for him. Even if it's just one job a week off here, it all counts!

I think it is to do with the toughness, a lot of Land Rover bolt-ons I got were powdered too.
