i an running 370 at the minute what will the engine take before i need to start spending big money. its a type uk because i dont know if to buy an fq400 evo. what does any body think.

Evo 8's handle like **** compared to Impreza IMO.

I nearly bought an Evo 8, then didnt because I test drove a friends more than once and hated it. Felt like driving a RWD car.

You can get a Evo 8 MR FQ320 for 13k now put a decat on it, fuel pump, filter and a remap probably cost you around 1k and you will be hitting close to 400bhp if not more!!!! Why pay 18k for a FQ400.

Or even better, if you got the money for a FQ400, buy a Evo 9 GT, much better car, the equvilant to a Scooby Spec C, lightweight, raw, and lots more fun!!!!!

I,ve had a 460 bhp Evo 8 MR and when i sold that i bought an 06 Spec C, out of the two the Spec C won hands down imo, yes the Evo was VERY quick, but for me the Spec C FOR STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOX wins hands down, the handling is sublime honestly.

I have since sold that abd bought myself a V3 Type- R with 350 bhp/345ft/lb and love that more than the other two i,ve mentioned.

If i were you i wouldn,t get the FQ400, over-rated imo, yes it,ll hold a tad more value because it,s a LIMITED EDITION, but for 400 money you can get a 9GT or even cheaper a 8MR 320..

Id go for the evo 9 GT, my mates elling one in blue, its tidy and as its the GT doesnt have the active yaw control which tends to go wrong.

Sort the handling out on your scooby and you will notice the performance more imo

You can get quite a bit more out of it yet though and some choice handling mods will let you use it better.
