Exclamation max boost what???

as above
right fitted a auto gauge boost gauge...60mm .it reads to 30 psi.
car is a 2004 sti type uk with s/s exhaust and k&n filter.
whats the max boost psi ..on the car as standard? i know their 265 bhp
went for a quick blast ...maxing at 20 psi.. is this normal??
gauge resets its self to 0 . on idle its - vac at 18. any info pls. all seems to be working ok. my import classic only boosted to 16 psi
i was thinking along 12 psi for the 2004 sti type uk.
what is max boost on a 2004 sti type uk? any one

Not at all normal no, and unlikely to be correct either.
The stock boost control system would cut the engine long before 2 bar and the turbo wouldn't have lasted 5 mins.

Martyn I think he means that the fsd is 30 psi., NOT the max reading !

20 psi is around 1.35 bar which I think is around the standard value.

DunxC

P.S. Mine hits 1.6 bar (25 psi) but it's been re-mapped !

1.35 would probably be a "peak" reading on the normal map.

My old 2003 STI ran 1.35bar mapped, but peaked 1.55bar

My STI with PPP peaks at 1.49Bar (21.6PSI)

it holds around 1.3bar for most of the rev range and then starts to drop off towards 1.1bar after 6K
