Don't know about what they are like on track days but for the money they are worth it.
I've got them on my early wrx along with better calipers and they work well.

necessary for an sti? My brakes already feel quite firm, was wondering if they will help cope with the excess heat produced on the track.

You actually notice a difference ? Did you up rate the hoses befor ethe calipers etc?

You might find that you need to file the hole in the front strut to get the support bracket to fit...... Goodridge use the fitting thats closest to the subaru one,...... oddly they don;t make a specific part....!!

Other than that, yeh, they firm the pedal up nicely, they won;t make the brakes any better, but with dot5.1 fluid they firm it up a bit.....

I fitted at the same time as the pads and fluid. There was a noticeable difference, but how much of that was accustomed to the hoses, i don't know. All the little bits make a difference though. For £50 why the hell not.

Better than a HUD.

yes thats what im thinking Gaz.

Slowly running through every part on scoobyparts and scoobyworld deciding what is worth buying. Was hoping to put an order in today but a few more bits i think.

Any other bits worth buying for 100-200?

These brake hoses are in the basket

i bought some "earls" brake lines and they dont have the specific fitting at all, so cable tied them to the strut with no issues

I would get an adjustable rear anti-roll bar (ARB) (about £90) and the anti-lift kit (ALK) (about £100) with a good 4 wheel geometry setup (about £70).

What a difference that makes. The roads have just got much straighter. It's not all about "go", you know.

Braided hoses are always a worthwhile improvement over oem rubber flexible hoses. You do need to do all of the hoses on the vehicle to benefit properly though (youd be surprised how many times people do the fronts only and cant understand why the result is disappointing).

They are supposed to help....

Mine go on on Tuesday !

Also another vote for an adjustable rear ARB and drop-links, will kill understeer and sharpen turn-in to corners.

DunxC

Update :- I watched mine being tie-wrapped onto the struts and Rick said he has MOT'd customers cars and they pass o.k., plus the pedal feels lots firmer now !

How do the tyres cope with the anti lift ki?

Url to decent Arbs/Drop Links or recommended brand? The car seems fairly stiff already. Might change them after a couple of tracks so i can feel the change.

What about the front ARB?

Mine are Whiteline, an an ALK needs the geometry doing really... Mine's close but needs a tweak. Did the rear first = ace !
Then added ALK and front bar, this calmed the oversteer down a bit ( fully stiff all round ) and increased the grip level from 10 to about 12 (Spinal Tap style !). On track mine now edges into oversteer on the exit of bends, NICE !

Arb is a defo, ALK against top mounts is the question.

I fitted a 24mm Whiteline adjustable rear ARB, i have it on the middle setting and it has made a huge difference. It feels like a different car

Agreed, for little expenditure, braided hoses & 5.1, drop links and 4W aligment are great Value per buck of handling.

Icing on the cake lowering spring kit and ARB & ALK IMHO

all on my christmas list then

Think i have spent my budget for this month! Im sure my family would still want presents for christmas.....nah

There doesnt seem to be many good shops for parts. Scoobyparts/world have very limited options. like brake disks only one lot, and no arbs.

So anyone run 24 on the rear and nothing on the front. Alot comment on 20 on the front and 22 on the rear, does this apply to STI? I assume the STI is already much stiffer?

Are the top mounts as quiet as the standard ones ?
I personally don't care ( toy car syndrome ! ) but I found the ALK to be as quiet as standard.

Beware classic VS new-age....

A 24mm bar on a classic is a bit extreme, a 22mm adjustable f&r suits my bug-eye !
