Default Sold my STI tonight - Already regretting it

My 97 STI went tonight. It had a bigger turbo and decat on it and was the most solid car i've owned and I don't think i'd be able to get a car as reliable in standard-ish form again for the same money.

I'm really down in the dumps about it now, already been on ebay looking what I could get for my money, but really need to put it back into my bank account.

To pay the bills and didn't fancy it going wrong on me with parts being pretty pricey on Imprezas and not being able to do much of the engine internal work myself takes the price up a bit if/when things do go wrong.

I think the person got a bargain, but it was only a few weeks ago I saw a tidy v4 sti go on ebay for £2800

I'd never heard the car outside before, and when he drove off he put his foot down as he knew I was outside waiting to hear it. Couldn't believe how nice it sounded and am already on the case now to get one again, whether I will or not remains to be seen. Was thinking possibly an rx7, but would really need to look into it more.

The scoob will be more reliable and possibly cheaper to repair than an rx7,you have to have deep pockets for them.

Really know how you feel mate. I had a to sell my E36 M3 to get some cash as had to move house, and watching it drive off was so gutting.
what makes it worse is it was a real good one with only 55k on the clock and i know i wont find another one like that

I've gone through exactly what you have also! A while ago I sold one of my STi's to ''save'' some cash and have less fuel expenditure, and went through a nearly new Clio 182 and also a BMW 330d, but missed the Subaru's very badly, the reliability. the driving pleasure, and the mighty all round unbeatable package that the Subaru is. Very difficult car to beat. Today, I drive a UK STi 05, my next car will be something like a Spec C or possibly new shape STi.
