Hi mate
The models you describe aren't available all over the Europe cause they are tuned by German STI branch office especially for the Greek market.
They have a piggy back ECU, which AFAIK increases the boost levels, therefore, the more HPs and Torque.
In my opinion stay away from these models and wait for the answer from Prodrive or STI.
At least they have three years warranty.

Does Greece fall under the same emissions rules as the rest of Europe? If so, it does at least suggest that it's possible to liberate 330bhp legally from an STI, which is good news. I wonder how long it'll take ScoobySport and co to work out how?

Hi all,
I first reply to Jim about the warranty of the conversions.Subaru Greece told me that there is the same warranty of three years as on the original cars.
Second, I write more informations about the conversions.
1. WRX 255Hp/5800rpm, torque 335Nm/4000. 1.2 bar pressure.Second ECU in parallel, turbine hoses from carbon fiber, racing brake pads.
2. WRX STi 330Hp, torque 393Nm, 1.2bar pressure.
IHI turbine, the same as in the WRC, with ball bearing.Second ECU in parallel.
As for the ride,a journalist, who drove them, told me that the big difference is not in the 255HP WRX over the 218hp, but the 330hp STi over the 265hp original.Acceleration is huge he told me.
greetings from Greece.
Theodore.

I must be daft - what is the down side to getting one of these imported - apart from usual import difficulties?

Clarence,

Subaru Greece have 3 versions of the 1600 TS

1) 1600 TS 95hp
2) 1600 TS Turbo 143hp
3) 1600 TS turbo 180hp.

I believe the 1600 TS Turbo models are modified in Greece by Subaru. I know the 143hp one is, but I'm not sure about the 180 hp car.

Cheers,

Wrexy.

I think they only offer 1.5 litre & 2.0 litre NA versions in Japan, the 2.0 NA engine there has DOHC 16 valve heads. The 1.6 litre in UK & the 1.8 litre engine is for export only.
If it's based on the TS, do they upgrade the suspension, brakes and wheels also? How abt the interior?

If you look at the price of the STi at the current exchange rate that's about £36,000. I'm sure you could get similar improvements on the STi for less than that within the UK. Any comments?

HI,
Unfortunately we greeks pay huge prices for cars over 1600cc because of special taxes.Of course, when cars are exported they do not pay these taxes so the price is not so high.
Contact Subaru Greece for this.

Subaru Greece don't have a web site at the moment - do you know of anywhere that has more info on these models, maybe even a picture?
