Only for a laugh!
If I changed my number plates to "DA BOLLOX" and drove around Essex for the day would I get knicked.

I'd say if you carry your normal number plates with you in the car and be polite to the coppers when they stop you, you might get away with a small fine, if the copper shares your sense of humour..
