Default Subaru Assistance, any good?

Anyone had any experience of Subaru Assistance? My AA membership is due for renewal, as well as my AA Annual European cover, and if I can save myself some £££ and rely on the free Subaru cover I'll be well chuffed.

Subaru assistance is probably the best breakdown cover, not sure but i think you have to have the car from new and then keep renewing, not like the AA where you can just ring up and join (i stand corrected if someone knows better).

not 100% but doesn't it run alongside your warranty so you can keep extending it. i know the subaru assistance got passed to me when i bought my old wrx second hand so i know you don't have to own the car from new to get it

Subaru Assistance is given to you for free for the first 3 years of a new car. It is also given to you when you buy a used car from a Subaru dealer for a year. It is also transerferbale and you can renew it wheather or not you take out an extended warranty or not. Not sure where you stand if you didn't renew last time but want to take it up again. Address to write to:

Subaru Assistance, PO Box 161, Croydon, CR9 1YG.

Good when I've used them, plus you don't have to explain that the car is 4wd, they automatically send a flat-bed.

I used them once when my Sigma Alarm/Immobiliser acted up and wouldn't lock/unlock/start the car.

They got hold of someone who knew the system inside out and they telephoned me to take me through the over-ride sequence.

Excellent Service, but that was about 6 years ago.

Been good to me, but Subarus are generally pretty reliable anyway.

Thanks for the feedback, looks like the "very nice man" is about to loose a client.

I'll also give them a thumbs up. Quick to turn up to emergencies and the dealership dealt with them directly once to get my car picked up.

I have used them twice, once MAF failure and one total right-off in 8 years. i can highly recommended there service

When on Holiday in europe, if the car is un-repairable (crashed, engine or gearbox)

AA etc they supply a car or you can travel back with it. The car could be home before

IIRC Subaru Assistance only supply a car and your cannot travel back with your car, it goes home alone and can take be weeks.

if with AA make sure your a few miles away from the Nurburg ring if brokendown/crashed as there is an exclusion zone around Ring and Policy will be cancelled

IIRC IMHO
