yeh it can be done, think its about welding up one of the diffs or something similar, there a couple of impreza drift cars being used in D1 and the like, one has a skyline engine in it iirc.

My guess it that you would loose the hlf shafts at the fronf, weld up the front diff then fit an lsd to the rear.......

Why not just buy one with the DCCD as you can then make the car perform almost as good as RWD

TX.

Definately, DCCD set to the lowest rear setting makes my type r feel like a RWD...plenty of sideways action

I'm with the Type R boys on this one. I have my DCCD on its lowest setting as much as the weather/my 'talent' will allow - and the rear always starts to slide when pushed...
Always feels controlled rather than twitchy though. And you'll get a great car into the bargain...

Driver Controlled Centre Differential - allows you to control how the power is split front to back by the centre diff. So you can set it so most of the power goes to the back making it feel like a RWD car.

Fitted on UK newage STIs from around 05 onwards and most import STIs including classics.

We have done this conversion. Retains drives, no welding or butchering and can be back 4wd in an hour and a half. Tis a secret though

Either get a sti typeR with DCCD which has a very rear wheel drive feel, or get an M3

There is a rear wheel Impreza used in rallying, it's done the Rojer Albert Clark for the last couple of years I believe. According to bits I've seen on this car the conversion to 2wd and back to 4wd is very simple.

We have an electronic DCCD on ours, so we can alter it manually are set it to auto, so it's basically an active diff, that tends to make it very rear wheel based on the gravel coming out of corners, great fun.
