Question Symtek anyone???

Has anyone fitted a Symtek ECU in thir car? What do you think of it?And does it make more sence spending over a grand (fitted) to fit this and have the flexability of mapping when you need to without paying the guts of £500 quid everytime you want a new flash??? Due to it being able to be mapped live rather than shut down everytime?

If any of this is wrong please advise as i'm passing on info given to me by the sub specialest i go to.

Simtek is an excellent unit and is particularly effective if you want 2 maps ie one for say 95 ron and the other for SUL or octane booster.

Not sure where you get the £500 costings for a remap though ? I charge £190+vat for subsequent mapping of any ECU whether it is an Ecutek, Apexi, Simtek or whatever.

the simtek will only ever be as good as the person mapping it, of course.

i'm very happy with mine and anti-lag was the other bonus, although my neighbours might not see it the same way!!!

money well spent in my case !!

As Andy says, the Simtek is first class. I have a full breakdown of the benefits on my website, Alan Jeffery - Engine Tuner

I have mine mapped for fun and second map for miss daisy with the bung in.

In all honesty I went for it as I have a '95 STi and thought it the best option for ECU replacement.
