Back in scoob again...... Its been a while!!!
Hey guys and girls,
As per the title been about 8 years since I have been in a scoob..... I can say its nice to be back! Not really a noise you ever get used to living without.
Pick the old girl up on Sunday from Hurst over in Bedford. Pleasure to deal with I have to say. The car is a tuned '99 STI 5 with 2.1ltr forged stroker bottom end. 6 speed box conversion and matching diff with late model Bremebo's front and rear. Lateral turbo (yet to find out which variant). Front mount etc.... Here a quick pic from down at the showroom last night. Rated around 440hp apparently but we'll get her on the rollers and see when we check the map on the Symtek.
Good spec'd car defiantly a great base to go from. Its actually not far off where my last car was when I sold it. Few thing to change as part of my own personal preference. Will alter the piping for the intercooler. May even change that set up entirely over time. Fancy a V-mount WRC style as I don't intend to go for much more hp. The induction in a Blitz item which will be swapped out for a K&N. I'll be re fabbing the exhaust system from the turbo back as the centre pipe and down pipe has been chopped around. The Blitz NUR spec isn't my cup of teas form a style point of view.
Chassis needs looking at. She's on BC's which are defiantly not my thing. These will be changed either for some KW or Ohlins once they start getting tired. Looks like stock bushing do i'll get some SuperPro's in there and swap out the roll bars for Eibach Items along with the usual drop links etc....
Still
Its dam nice to be back

Well picked her up. Runs so nice. Super friggin' loud. Now i'm a rotary man so I get loud. My other car is a Naturally aspirated peripheral port FC RX7..... But this is loud! So I'll get on that tomorrow eve and get the exhaust modded. But having said the car is lovely. Hers a few pics now she is home

Nice purchase, this really caught my eye whilst nosing at the classifieds the other week - really fancied it for myself although I couldn't part with my current classic and having 2 would be greedy love it though, hope you enjoy it fella

Nice car dude!
I'm off to Cyprus for 3 months in a couple of weeks and looking at getting another subaru when I return. I've heard good things about Hurst cars. What was the overall service like?

Got the Blitz rear 'muffler' off. No wadding in there at all. Explains the terrible resonance and exhaust note. Anyway pulled it off and replaced the muffler with one of my own units as a temporary fix until the material and V-bands turn up for the new full system. Annoyingly where the down pipe meets the mid pipe it reduces and expands around the flange. So will be nice to get rid of that restriction too.
The Blitz.
New muffle all welded up. 3" bore, 3.5" straight tip.
Added to the Nur Spec pipe work before fitting.
And fitted.
