Read in the paper and heard on the news that young tearaways driving modified motors and causing a disturbance by driving too fast or dangerous driving can have their cars taken away from them on the spot & impounded......

They can start by nailing the daft ******* whos parents have moved in opposite me - some old Escort POS with a baked bean tin exhaust pipe who spends the early hours wheelspinning up residential roads...

For 3 points and 60 quid I might consider stopping, but if they are takin' my car they'll have to catch me first.

Quite a good idea in principle. But as with all things at will be taken to extremes. Who defines what a "Boy racer" is? And the "modified" quote worries me as well. I met 35 top blocks last weekend at PE and we all had modifications of one sort or another.

Seriously, look more carefully and this is not a new law, just a targeted version of the old one. "By driving too fast or dangerous driving", ie stuff that you could get pulled for anyway. Not just because of their existence. Not even "causing a disturbance" by itself, should be with the others.

Hmmmm, indeed - tip top in principle but it could well encompass any old chimp with a clapped out nova with no tax and insurance to someone who's put a graphic on their boot! I only hope some common sense is employed in this.
