Default Newbie saying hi

Evening all

Just thought i'd post my first thread and say hi all

I'm hopefully going to be an owner member very soon, once I've sold the vx220 NA i'll be on the look out for an 03 WRX I recon (depending on the price I get for the VX) in the yorkshire area.

Any advice would be great (don't worry i'll try not to ask stupid questions - have had my fingers burned before doing that!!)

Recon i'll have a budget of £10k so not sure what that will get me? Sti?

Am I right in thinking that the 50k service is the cam belt change? Would be good to know when i'm looking at milage of prospective buys

welcome. Your budget is about the same as what i had. I went for the WRX but if i had the extra dosh i would have gone for an STi... still... im happy

Car will be totally different to the RWD of the VX so get used to having understeer instead of lovely super fun oversteer.

Yeah the vx is a lovely car to drive and getting the back end out is great but it really is a 4 months a year car (even less with our weather!!) so want something I can enjoy all year round.

Having it tucked up in the garage and using the missus's punto 5 days a week isn't really doing it for me to be honest

I already miss RWD but i must say, i was shocked the other day when it was chucking it down driving the scooby about.

normally i would have been correcting the back end all the way home but i didnt have to twitch once (that i noticed) with the scooby... quite frankly i was shocked. the awd system was fantastic in the wet... also part of the reason i went for one like you, its good to have a car you can use all year round without dreading the weather!

Cheers for the warm welcome guys

Pulled a blinder and looks like the vx will be going next saturday (only been up for sale for a week so amazed how quickly its gone!)

So got £10k that will soon be burning a hole in my pocket!!!!

Can I ask a daft question (know I promised I wouldn't but guess we all have to start somewhere!)

Whats the difference between a WRX and the WRX UK300?

I've seen a nice looking car at a very good price locally but its advertised as a WRX UK300???

Cheers all

Rich

The UK300 was a limited edition, there will be numbers up to 301 as Prodrive don`t use the number 13.

Default STI

Hi Landy !
10 K will buy you a very nice low mileage bug-eye STI, or a newer WRX !

Have a look for a blue bug-eye STI in Castleford on Pistonheads....
Fat boy grim on here !
Have a look in the WYIOC section also !

DunxC

P.S. I'd almost sell you mine for that much ! LOL

P.P.S. An adjustable Whiteline rear anti-roll bar will give you oversteer on demand !
