Question

Has anyone found differences in the exhaust system of the MY'01?
Ie. pipe size varying depending on which EU location they are sourced from?

Infact are there any differences with anything on the car, WRX that is dependant on EU location (bar the number plate! ).

Cheers, Alex

Buying from Belgium - was told that model code TAD and spec code EKML would provide a full UK spec 5 door.

Cheers HarryB..

What would you lot say if somebody say the MY'01 may have different size CATs which in turn meant different length pipes dependant on which part of Europe you got it from?

Surprised Alex. After all (1) It's a waste of money for the manufacturer and (2) I thought we all had the same legislation?

Exclamation

Exactly, you got it in one... its a load of bull****.

But someone is claiming this is why something doesn't fit.
Hmm.. so how did a scoobysport fit perfectly then? each part the same size as the OEM?

I'm not going to say anymore, I just want to know if anyone had heard similar?

Alex

PS. However, if it isn't resolved satisfactorarily I will state the facts.

PPS. This has nothing to do with suppliers, but manufacturers.

PPPS. And I would like someone here to prove them right, as I'm interested to know why my UK spec isn't apparently UK spec.

PPPPS. Please don't mention names and do not start a slaging match, I'm looking for info. Cheers, Alex

Spoke to my dealer in Belgium after the rally & he confidently confirmed ALL European Subarus regardless of which European country are ALL identical. Got him to cheack exhaust pipe sizes, hes not sure on size, but he says they would definitely be the same as UK spec or any other European spec as they are all manufactured in Fuji Heavy Metal Industries in Japan for European delivery!!!! Hoope this helps.

I have a Belgian MY01. Don't fully know what you are angling at, but I had Scoobsport D/P and centre with Prodrive back box. The 'whole thing' was too long by 10mm and rubbed and banged on the heat shield.

Took off Prodrive and fitted TSL back box which is 'shorter'. Graham says this was a design feature. They have obviously had previous issues with length so it might be wise to speak to Graham Cowland at TSL
