Hi Everyone,

When exactly did the facelift take place on the old shape turbo. Would any P registered cars have the later type seats? What other changes were made apart from the interior and the alloy wheels.
Would it be much grief to put one of the later interiors into an earlier car?

I had a P 97. This had the new seats and 15" wheels as standard. The R plater had the 16" wheels, white clocks, momo wheel etc.

MY98's were better than MY97 as they had momo steering wheel, white dials, latest dash, better seats, indicators on the left, 16" wheels, different front bumper, I think.

I know of several P reg MY96 which are pre facelift so watchout. Remember P reg started August 96 and MY97 were not released until the following Motorshow and then took time to filter through to the dealers.

If we're going to say that the MY98 is better than the MY97 because on the wheels and different gauges and Momo wheel, the MY99 had 4 pot brakes and better lights.

I will be buying a MY97 or later soon cause this is when they got he face lift, new low friction pistons, other little bits and most importantly - 215BHP from the 208BHP from earlier years although toruqe remained unchanged.

The upgrade to 215 from 208 was on the MY99 when the phase 2 engine appeared.
