I have only had my new P1 back 2weeks when today some puts a four foot key mark along the drivers side.

Is there any way of doing a good touch up on this kind of mark. I do not really want to respray as it will only happen again.

I now have 2 imprezas with key marks down the sides. To say I am not happy is understatement.

Why do people do this and you never seem to catch them doing it.I am so p***** off I am sure you understand.

Welcome to the board Rich....

To say "That sucks @rse" is an understatement and I feel for ya buddy.

You never catch them doing it it coz they're gutless little c***s who sneak around all day with no job, with a big chip on their shoulders thinking the world owes them a living.

Your car gets keyed out of sheer jealousy by these lazy no hopers.

Hello good evening and welcome.......
Just my 2 pence worth but its a good job you dont catch them ( chances are you'll serve more time for breaking their legs and fingers) than they get for keying your motor.
It doesnt just happen to decent flash motors either, some scum kicked the door in on my E plate Pug 309 1300GL a couple of years ago. BUT IF IT HAPPENED TO THE SCOOB...........
Like I always said you can rape my mum, murder my sister but if you ever touch the scooby!!!
Its time for blanket zero tolerance justice system
Flame proofs on!!

Cool

Sorry to hear that m8.

My Impreza is garaged at night and parked outside my office at work so I'm quite fortunate.

My wife hit a bollard a couple of years ago in her Toyota, two days after getting one side resprayed some ar*e put the keys all the way down the same side.
What is it with these people?

I Didn't get it resprayed, T-cutted it and polished the best I could. I don't think I could have put up with it on my Scoob though, respray maybe the only option.

Where do you leave them Rich?

Lee

Lee,

I only went fishing for 3 hours left the car on its own in the car park.

I though people respected subarus as they are not an expensive or snobby car.

But to have both cars keyed is out of order.

Still not happy

Richard

ps Is there anyway of using touch up paint on the mark.

Sorry Rich,

Rang a few paint repairers at the time but because the scratches were down to the metal everyone said it needed a total panel respray, hope you have more luck.

Hi Rich Groves

If u care to call me on 01752 700754 ometime over the holiday period, I'll ascertain the extent of the damage by chatting to you and hopefully be able to prescribe something that will hide or remove the damage at little cost to you. If the damage does not show undercoat then you'll be happy to hear that its repairable without need for respray.

Regards
Mark

Rich

Same thing happened to my bonnet a few months ago - it makes me bloody angry!
Mine was down to the undercoat, so a respray was required.

Hope yours is repairable...

Rich

Hi Rich

If you get really desperate then try this before the respray - it worked for me once in similar circumstances. I was shown by a main dealer (not Subaru) paint professional, but I emphasise that its a last ditch attempt before the respray.

Place a line of sellotape along and very close to either side of (parallel to) the scratch i.e. so that the good paint is protected on either side of the scratch but the scratch is still accessible. Then work some paint into the scratch with your fingers, a little at a time, and build the paint up to the level of the original paint i.e. fill the scratch. Next carefully remove the sellotape and make sure its not on for too long! Leave the paint to dry overnight. Finally, speak to Mark and use some 'cleaner' to 'blend in' the new paint work. I used T-CUT at the time but there are many better substances about now. It worked for me and no one ever noticed.

If you give this a try let us know how you get on.

Phil
