Default T25 Written Off

I’m so sad to say that my 2 month old T25 (the last one of the nice shape) has been written off. A lady crashed into the back of me last Friday night. Her insurance have coughed up nice and quickly too. What do I get now to replace the weapon?

I maybe better to wait to see the new 08STI apparently far more tuneable than the old one

RS4 gets my vote too.

Next I'd say the new Evo X FQ***

Or as said above, wait to see what the new STI's like. Doubt the PPP kit will be 100BHP over standard though.

Can Litchfields not still get the old shape Impreza? Surely there are loads about? Just get another T25

Firstly i'm gutted for you - must have been a big impact for it to be written off

The RS4 is a different beast (especially to a Type 25) but i'm loving mine - try one you might like it

Buy your Type 25 back if you can (at a reasonable cost), transfer the running gear etc into Spec C

Many people make this mistake: a lady ran in to your car. She is wholly to blame. Her insurance company has to take the rap. But you do not have to take the insurance company's cash offer which is inevitably far lower than the value of the car.

You are entitled in law to have your property, in this case, your car, put back into the condition it was in before the shunt, even if it costs the insurance company thousands more than the car may be deemed to be worth.

You go away and get 3 reputable quotes to repair it. You send the lower of the 3 quotes to the lady's insurers and tell them this is what it is going to cost and that you hold them wholly responsible for those costs. End of.

This is all well documented.

Why send the lowest of the three quotes off, I'd have thought you'd send the highest quote?

The Insurance will not pay the highest cost, trick is to get the lowest quote to match the place you trust, then get a quote from a main dealer or two to show how "cheap" it is !

Hmm if its a write off depends on category. If its an cat-A or cat-B write off it will never be put back on the road. Cat-C and D can be. If its panal damage I would want it back, but anything more seriouse and the car would never feel the same again (wethere thats physical or mental).

What I was thinking was send in the highest price first then bargain down to a lower price at whatever garage you were happy at, not send in your lowest quoted garage.

Yes mate that is what I wanted to do. The car needed to be re shelled. There was no way it could of been jigged out. You cant get the shells you never could. So I'm Fcuked! Iain Litchfield fought in my corner and I got back a light lunch under what I paid for it in August!

Well done! Not many people who take on insurance companies achieve a result like that which is why I posted so it's good news

It depends on the circumstances. If someone wrote off a very rare car I owned and loved I would want it back if I thought that much of it. If it was just a Fiesta, no!
