I think you add around 3ml of NF octane booster per full tank.

I put my knocklink in the upper arc of the dash. I don't know about sensitivity, as it was setup for me. But the first light is always faintly on. Never seen any others light up. Thankfully.

I use NF, 3ml p/Litre is recommended, although i've been told to whack the whole bottle in for additional safety when doing track days. If it doesn't already run on it, i'm sure half a bottle would do the same.

Would this place be suitable?....
Its inbetween the turbo and intercooler.
Aboce piston number 3

Its a allen key bolt, which looks like an access kind of hole.

well as far as setting it goes,i think the best way is too drive the car at about three quarter power and adjust the setting on the knoklink box itself so that one green light illumanates, you will need someone in the passanger seat to do this as you will be consontrating on driveing, not setting the knock link.this is how i done mine, and never had any probs.

If I'm not mistaken that looks like the hole you usually put an oil temp sensor in, so I'd put mine somewhere else to be honest. I don't think the knock sensor is supposed to sit "in" the engine as such, is it? It just needs to be screwed to the block somewhere as far as I know.

Bolt it to the block behind the ecu's knock sensor- to the right of the intercooler as you look at it. Their is a spare threaded hole- think its M6 but prepared to be corrected.

Turn the sensitivity up to maximum, run the car, then, if necessary, turn it down until the first green is showing at tickover.

You are looking for massive increases in the lights. Gradual increase shows engine noise- a 'knock', 'det', will show like increasing from green to red then subsiding again. Gradual increase usually just shows engine noise.

Put a third of a bottle of NF in for track / competition / drag, 1/6 for road use if its modified or a jap import. Contraversial but sensible.

I would give the sensor a tap with something to make sure all the lights flash on/work. The build quality of the knocklink unit has historicaly been bad.
