Sponsor a website anyone? (ScoobySport/TSL/ScoobyMania/Nito etc etc)

Hi guys...
No doubt you will have used the image uploader at some point as have quite a few other people... there is currently a bit of a problem with keeping it going as it is using quite a bit of bandwidth, which I get charged for if I hit more than 1Gb per month. (currently at nearly 3Gb this month alone!)
So... if any of you want somewhere that gets a fair amount of hits, although only a proportion of them are where a banner would be, please give me a shout.
The site that it is currently on is an impreza related site dedicated to my RB5, I'm working hard on making a nice site at the mo, hence the usual 'under construction' message.
Check out the following plot for an idea of how much it gets hit...
The cool thing is that this is pretty much only ScoobyNet hitting it (although the other boards do), imagine the traffic with the Lancer, Ford, Vauxhall boards etc...
re: hosting options, we have the usual selection... I think that *maybe* a reseller package would do the job, it offers the following:-
2GB Web Space
Host Unlimited Web Sites
360 GB Transfer per year
Unlimited POP3 accounts
Unlimited Email Auto Responders
Use up to 75 MySQL Databases at no extra charge!*
£70 per month (ex vat)
£770 per year (ex vat)
your thoughts?

Not my sphere, but is it possible to force the image type e.g. Gif or JPEG, then Add some text automatically to the picture (in the same way web-cams etc. do - I *think* i've even seen linux commnad line utils to do this). All Pictures could then have "Hosting sponsored by a Great Company" in the bottom corner. ?

yeh, that can be done but I kinda like the idea of being able to upload more or less anything... good thought tho and one that I've thought of a few times.
We could even embed a company logo/URL on an image... how's about that? randomly include a URL to a sponsor in the corner of the image?

in theory it could be done to any image.. there just needs to be a trigger (once upload is complete) that then scans the image (as its all just binary data and puts its bit in then resaves it...

BMP's are really easy I've done stuff like that b4.. (RLE is slightly tougher) JPG's r a pain but possible. but all images are the same once loaded into memory.
Watermarking is a growing way of "tagging" images so ppl can prove who did them originally this involve hiding invisible images in the image that can be extracted (now that is clever) but thats a bit longer description

indeed!
I don't mind getting another domain...
here are my thoughts so far...
1. The uploader could have a random banner displayed when the user visits it. The system would then super-impose the companies URL onto the image when it has uploaded.
2. Free POP E-mail addresses could be given to users if they wanted. What about these domain names? :-
rb5.org.uk
subarurb5.com
yourscooby.com
mysubaru.com
prodriveRB5.com
3. Other BBS systems could use it, for a fee, and generate more traffic...

Hello mate, sorry to hear about the image uploader - hope you get sponsorship.
Trying to get some local Scooby's together for a meet - u up 4 it?
Also, have a look at my posts and tell what your opinion is on a new exhaust system - which one to go for.
Send me an email, as i have not ticked email notification on this reply.
Hope all is well.
Thanks
Eliot
