Default Location of Defi controller

My Defi control unit is currently in the glove box but I'm having problems with keeping it in a fixed position - how difficult is it to relocate it to replace the cup holder or ashtray?

Any help/suggestions for alternative locations appreciated.

Use some sticky velcro to hold it in place.

Take the cup holder out the dash. That's where mine is.

I put mine between the passenger seat and the centre console stuck on with strong velcro. Visually out of the way but still easy to reach if required.

Personally I think it's a fairly ugly looking unit and didn't want it in the dash where the cup holder is.

Thanks for the replies.

It was stuck in the glovebox using double-sided sticky stuff but has now fallen off (breaking the oil temp wire in the process - hopefully it will have enough slack behind it to fix it).

I think I'll keep in the glovebox for now and try some velcro instead.

I had a look and the manual holder has been removed (not by me) - there are 2 slots in the back of the glovebox where I guess this fitted in.

I've now refitted it in the glovebox using some super-strength velcro - hopefully it will stay put this time

I managed to get the broken oil temp connector out of the control unit but can't now reattach the wires - will I need to replace the whole wire or can a new connector be fitted? (I'm hoping the latter is possible)

no reason why a new connector couldn't be fitted, assuming you can get hold of one.

I'm sure I see a DEFI control unit with a broken connector somewhere. Oh yeah, ebay. The guy said he ordered a new unit, then found out you can buy the connectors. But I'm sure you could wire in the sensor with out the connector.

Yeah, it's the small connector on the wire that plugs into the controller that I need - it has snapped off - I tried to fix it but it's far too small for my fat fingers

I need a connector with a short length of wire already connected (2 wire) and I'll use a connecting block to join it to the wire from the sensor.

Had the boys at Dastek fit mine where the cupholder goes.

They have also done some nice custom installs of a knocklink, inlet temp & fuel pressure defi in the drivers air vent.

Where the ashtray is? In the second cup holder in the centre console. In the bin on the dash...
