Where's All The Banter Gone??
Read loads of treads on here, about a "bit of banter" with other marques.
You know the themes, both got fairly rapid motors, have a bit of a blast, at the end of it, thumbs up, a bit of banter.
This morning, I was at lights (which were on Red) 2 lanes merges into 1 after the lights with a nice long stretch of road.
Mr Black Audi A4 pulls up alongside in the outside lane and, starts to rev his engine.
Lights change, I'm off much quicker than him and slow down a bit, as the roadis now single file, he's now catching up with me and moving a bit now, so I hit the fun pedal, and he disappears.
Then he starts to flash his lights????
What was that all about??
Get to the next Roundabout which has lights by the Motorway, I am going straight on he's turning left.
The lights are on Red.
He stops at least a car and a bit from me.
I notice Mr Audi has Miss Audi as a pasenger. He is not looking too happy but is just sitting there.
The lights change we move off, flashing lights etc as he goes down the Slip Road.
What was that all about??
Definitely miffed that his litle German Tonka Toy couldn't keep up with the Scoob, particularly happy as it's been runnng better.

Nah, he definitely went for it.
I think he was surprised, he caught up and when I left him again, that's when Mr Osram was used.
As i said, bit of fun, I've acknowledged quicker motors in a thumbs up sign when that's happened to me.

Just an ego problem... and probably miffed as he thought his over priced Audi was the fastest thing on the road.
I did a BMW from the lights a week or two back and got a similar reaction. Didn't flash his lights but the guy was pissed and started driving like a nutter.
You still get banter from some people but Audi and BMW drivers as a generalization tend to be a bit up their own *****.

Destroyed a chavved up Corsa on the motorway one night. He tried to follow but failed miserably
He caught up with me when I pulled off and sit on my tail in a 30 flashing his lights and giving me the bird (his bird in the passenger seat was a minger)
I slowed down, buzzed down the window and waved him by
He shot by at great speed blasting his horn , then turned off, predictably, into MacDonalds

I do like a bit of banter on the roads, but of course without the stupidity. I just enjoy driving the car thats all what matters IMO.

Thanks all, Andy good luck to you & your very high quality work.
If anyone would like a good drawing of their Scoob Andy ( Chocolate ) is the man.
To the Audis/BMW'S chill out, the Scoob is a great bit of kit, and a lot more resonable in cost.

I don't think there is the friendly 'banter' any more at all unless it is a fellow Impreza driver.
People are so ready to gesticulat/be agressive/become irrational and even threatening nowadays.
My racer from the lights days are out of my system and I generally cruise to and from racing the Impreza (for real) due to this risk.
Sorry to sound/be and old fart, but 10/20 years ago you could have a great time larking about like this, but now gone.
My old 911 now gets 'wow, what a great classic car' (which it is) and the Impreza gets 'wow, what an old slow fart in that subaru'
Graham Before you ask, I'm the one in the Impreza!
