Will my Scooby blow up?
I bought my 1995 Scooby Wrx 2 weeks ago now
I have spoken to a few people and they keep telling me its going to blow up blah blah its realy starting to **** me off!
I have been told a few times about it being mapped to run on a higher octane fuel than we have in this country i have been putting Tesco 99 octane and V Power in when possible. I am still worried tho i want to get it mapped to run on lower octane fuel but wont have the money for a few months should i be worried?
Thanks Sean

It will run nicely in standard form, start decatting and the likes and the chances of problems go up, now there are scoobyecu that cost about 200 quid and are just a piggyback chip which maps your car to uk fuel which might be an option for you, but as long as the car is religiously kept to its 6 month/7.5k (whichever is first) services (and id advise a cambelt change if you dont know when it was done last) the engine should last years

You will hear about the **** oil change too. The list goes on. Dont worry about it as long as you fill it up with petrol and oil its fine. I use 95 ron petrol and she pulls like a train. UK car mapped for uk 95 petrol.

Like they said... keep an eye on the oil.. never let it get dry... Make sure its serviced by somebody who knows what they are doing with a Sub oil Filter so that it never gets starved of oil

People above have mentioned this i imagine getting it fitted could be the problem. I had sti 1 and all was fine including decatting - which incidentally is pointless unless your going to remap ( This is what i did and wouldnt bother if id had my time over)
