Hi Just joined your great forum
I have just bought a 2002 WRX with the round head lights. The garage where I bought the car is uncertain to what the BHP is on this standard unmodified UK car. The only thing he said was its got a prodrive exhaust, what other prodrive bits it has are unknown.
What would the standard BHP be and 0-60 time
cheers

I love the look cant say 2003 front looks any better to me and I have seen some good front end mods to the "Bug Eye" car...The other thing my car has got that I haven’t seen before is a Turbo Boost Gauge on the steering wheel housing, is this a standard gauge it looks like it should be there, but not seen it on any others
and thanks for the info

Really happy its quick and very stable yes you need to rev it a bit to get the turbo to kick in but that so much fun, I ride a Bike it tops at 186 mph limited and after a few years that seems slow now I think you just get used to the power and then you want MORE

Welcome mate!
What part of Wales are you from? Dont worry, im not a stalker, its just that a meet is held middle of every month at the Toby Carvery off junction 33 of the M4. Its worth getting along to, lots of cars to look at and get ideas from to spend your money on. See the Wales section.
As for modding, not sure what you have already been told but a de-cat or sport-cat and a remap will be a good start and should take you to around 250hp ish.
Happy spending mate!!

Hi, welcome from another bugeye owner.
it may have PPP fitted - if so there should be a certificate with all the paperwork.
The gauge you have will be a lamco. They were (and still are) available from subaru - so not standard but dealer supplied, and bloody expensive.
Just fitted one to my bugeye
And you are bound to ask about mods so.....
K&N or Green Panel Filter
Decat or High flow sports cat downpipe
Decat up pipe
Decat centre section
Back box of your choice - depending on how loud you want it (Your prodrive box is fine tho)
Remap - Ecutek £650ish / Non Ecutek £300ish (See Jolly Green Monster on here for Non Ecutek)
That lot will give 280-290bhp with a totally different driving feel to standard WRX, more responsive all the way through the rev range.
Uprated brake pads with standard disks are ok - I chose Mintex M1144 pads and am happy with those, bit noisy at times and quite a lot of brake dust residue on wheels but perform very well from cold to hot.
Whiteline rear Anti-Roll bar and solid droplinks reduces understeer. IMO that would be the first mod I'd do (before power) as it makes a big difference to stability of the car into bends and can be done for not a lot of £££.

I have the classic 0-60 5.15 qtr mile 13.66 @ 106.5 very minor modes.
i think the 02 as had some macs so is abit on the lard side 0-60 5.9. best thing to do is get a G-meter from ebay.
