Question

Hi,

I was interested in getting an HKS boost guage today, I think they look fab...

Anyway, I called ScoobyMania to ask about them. Apparently the odd size makes it pretty expensive to obtain the correct pod for them?

So, what gives? Have any of you got any HKS guages installed, what did you do regarding mounting?

Ta,
Matt

Have you seen the STI boost gauge? It is not A pillar mounted, but it is the dogs whatsits. Cost around £200 fitted.

I'm buying the AutoMeter gauges from Scoobymania as they're a) cheap b) work c) look good.

Mike T is currently getting a prototype pod made to hold them: hopefully this will be available soon (otherwise I won't be able to fit the gauges that I own )

Thumbs up

I have some japaneze gauges fitted in the centre console above the radio and they look like factory fit (almost). Don't know the name but can post a photo if you like.

I thought about getting the STi boost guage, I've seen them and they are very nice.

From what I can gather tho they are hard to read and it's better to have a normal guage somewhere near the line of sight?

The AutoMeter guages, have you got any details?

Cool

I have HKS gauges.
They are 68mm so I bought a nice HKS pod from Japan for 199GBP which then had to be trimmed [circa 100gbp]to match the interior of the car.
And was then DAMAGED by TDi when they had to reset one of the gauges they installed incorrectly!
My advice would be to get 55mm gauges as you can get a center pod now for 60gbp from your friendly Subaru dealer [thanks for trying Shark] or Scoobymania. These pods are also a lot sleeker than mine.

Wink

Bajie, the smaller HKS are 46mm (i thought) and the only ones that will fit well into the Subaru dealer supplied pod????

I bet your the sort of bloke that tells women he has 12 inches when he has 4 in reality?

My local garage is due to fit HKS gauges in the scooby pod (46 mm gauges) - they've done it before and say there is no problem. Will tell you how it goes and looks.

Red face

Bloody Hell Fire!

I was gonna roast SunilP then re-read my post.
I added another 10mm to my calculations!

Anyway, I've been to the toilets with a slide rule and all is ok. Just hope I was using the right side of the ruler is all

But, whatever size they are, they still wont fit in a Subaru sourced pod. So there!
