How come so many drivers insist on driving in the dark with no lights on. Surely they must notice that their dashboard is all dark etc. And if you flash them a bit they still dont understand.
Had to come to a stop last night to inform the driver that for over 2 miles on the N.Circ everyone was flashing them to let them Know. There where 3 adults in the car.... If they cant notice this little problem ,what else will miss???

Once did some driving in Mauritius. Nobody uses headlights even in the pitch black. All the locals are used to this so when Jonny foreigner comes around a bend in his hire car with main beam on they become temporarily blinded by the dazzlingly bright light. Bit scarey when you can't see them coming and you know they can't see anything either. The roads were rubbish anyway.

seem to recall somewhere in the deep recesses of my brain that you don't have to have lights on at all if travelling in well lit built up area. Think I'm talking bollox, but might not be.
I usually flash people without lights, and sometimes they get the message, other times i get the finger! ah well, when they hit someone and get grief from their ins co. because they had no lights on they might learn a lesson.

I was once about to overtake a car on a very dark morning on a country road. Just as I was pulling out to the other side of the road, I noticed a glint, so pulled back in. Seconds later a dark coloured car coming the other way at speed went past with no lights on. If I'd been a bit less observant we'd have probably had a nasty head on at a combined speed of 140mph plus. How this idiot could see where he was going I don't know.

Personally, I don't flash people coming the other way because all you do is blind them with an unexpected dose of full beam! Much better to better to blip the front foglights methinks.....
