YOU CANT GIVE THEM AWAY???
been trying to sell my 98 uk impreza on a well known auction site with the bidding starting at £2999 and no reserve........it runs out in 6 hours and i havent even had one bid, i cant believe it, you just dont seem to be able to sell any second hand car/bike that easily at the minute
i sold a motorbike a couple of months back and that was a nightmare to sell and it was an "absolute belter".....whats going on????

nothing going on - ask yourself this "would i buy a performance car (or any car for that matter) from and online auction.
Bite the bullet, pay the cash and put it a valid sales place like Autotrader or pistonheads.
People go to Ebay for bargins only

might be worth trying some of these sites..
autotrader.co.uk (charges)
pistonheads.com (free)
exhangeandmart.co.uk (charges)
classifieds.co.uk (free)
I think ebay is good. Out of all the sites available ebay is by far the best advertising site so you will get lots of viewers. I have sold all my previous cars through ebay and everytime the buyer has not been a bidder - just someone who has viewed it on ebay and then contacted me and done the deal outside of ebay.
Make sure you have a good description and loads of pics (hint - save on ebay pic prices and put links to all your pics in the description section)
also be patient, if this is the first time you have listed it don't expect it to go within the first auction you run. It will go but it's easy to expect it to go sooner than it will - car dealers have cars on there fore courts for weeks/months before they go

i see ebay as another autotrader, i dont bid on cars if i like one, i use ebay as a search tool,if i like a car i will do all the usual stuff i would if i read an advert in the local rag,go see e it etc annd buy as normal.
autotrader prob have about 8 pages in ur area so ur car will stiull be up against it

like others i tend to use ebay more to advertise my car rather than actually hope for ones to bid on it, but even so ive hardly had any calls for it. i have put in the ad that it suffers with piston slap when cold so im wondering if this is maybe putting ones off , but thing is id rather be honest and mention everything than not.

need a little patience as well. When i sold my 95 WRX about 2 years back i had it advetised for about 2 months and no calls. Just when i was about to give up someone phoned, came round, paid the full asking price in cash (no haggle at all) and drove it away.
Car sales are a strange thing at the best of times

I have bought and sold at least 10 motors on Ebay and only two have run till the auction ends. I have used it purely as an advertising/search tool and have always viewed/shown the car(s) in the flesh and the deal has been done off of Ebay then the listing is pulled once it is sold.
I would also recommend Piston Heads as it has a massive amount of hits each day plus it is free
Autotrader is good but they charge for the advert (To be expected considering their line of business)

Use Ebay as an advertising tool only, do not expect to sell the car on there through the listing. What you'll get is people calling you and viewing and generally not bidding on Ebay unless it's very low bids with no hope of winning. I've sold several cars on there and the only thing to reach the end and sell was a golf gt tdi, these are one of the few 'decent' cars that do sell on Ebay with ease.

Expect not to take advantage of a very large market of cars for sale then. There's really only a few places worth looking at for a used car, Autotrader, Ebay and pistonheads (sports only). There's even a classified section on Ebay now. Exchange and Mart is hardly worth bothering with these days.

Autotrader is the only one i have used and has always given good results but i have only sold 2 cars on there.
When i buy my next car (evo or scooby) i really don't think i would use ebay unless it was local to me and i could view the car before bidding.
good luck in selling your car.
