Just met Sir Colin at his book signing, what a thoroughly nice man.
Joked with him about the size of Burns' head, there were camera men there with huge lenses which I suggested were mistakenly waiting for Burns, he replied that Richard would need a larger book store
I then asked him to sign a CarArtz pic of my car, and said I knew it was the enemy etc, and he replied 'Sweet memories' with a wink
You know its true Colin
As a side issue the lady behind told him she hoped the TV coverage would be better next year on Channel 4, he told her that the drivers/teams thought the coverage was poor too and had made it known to those involved. Nice to see they care and hopefully C4 will respond with great coverage next year.
At the end of the day he seems like any other bloke, and seemed as pleased to meet a nobody like me, as much as I was pleased to meet him!

Technically its only on till 1.30, but he was running late due to the amount of pre-ordered books he had to sign! The queue was massive but was coming down.
Interestingly the header on his book reads 'The Peoples Champion', do you think they had that ready before the weekend?

Boooooooo!!!!! he just signed a picture of the cossie for me !!!! no thats not enough smilies !!!
Its going throught the laminator now.
We had a bit of a chat about the car, he asked me if it was original and I said yes and that I made sure it was. He then swished the pen across the bonnet on the pic and in the book too.

You are so lucky to have met Sir Colin! We waited for ages to see him at the Motorshow in Glasgow about 3 weeks ago and he never showed. What a disappointment, although a Ford Motorsport type gadgie took our book for signing and post to us! Not the same, but hey!

I was worried about de valuing the ECU cover. No slight to Colin, but everyone i spoke to said that it would ruin it so I decided against it. The Pic looks great though and I'm chuffed to bits that he signed it . Pity I dont know how to post up pictures as I would bung it on here.

Astraboy,
get it scanned in, save it as a jpg, then follow the instructions on how to post pictures in the members gallery. Hell it's so simple, even I managed after a couple of attempts.
Sure like to see it.
