Unhappy

just asking wot luck you've had with yours???

had mine fitted lasted tuesday!

5days later Scuft passenger front wheel alloy on blessed curb on the exit of a car park, not too bad a sacuft i've used very fine wet&dry sand paper and cut it down! i'll buff it with a Drimmel when i have time...

last nite, i heard a clickin sound...
only a 20mm Screw was sticking out the tread of the rear passenger tyre, luckily it was in the thick tyre tread. I pulled it out and it hadn't puntchered the tyre! thank God.
it made me wonder if some one had placed it under but i don't think they had...it was just bad luck i picked it up off the road!

have you had the same bad luck as me?????

apart from that they look wicked....and now the Subaru stickers are fitted they look even better!
i'll post nu pix later

It's the TSL curse Phil,

Once you start spending money there it never stops.

Wheels, tyres, dumpvalve, downpipe, ITG filter, geometry setup, brakes..................

This always happens with a new set of rims m8, in the 1st 6 months you'll catch every kerb, pothole etc. Your wheels are magnetised
to them and now it's winter.....gritters

I know the feeling Phil.

Three weeks after getting my powder coated rims on, I take a chunk of out the rim protector on the front tyre and scuff both pax side rims on a rock in Scotland. Bah!

Yes I believe that I was the other recipent of the polished
edged 17"s (apparently they only had 2 sets). The only problem
I've had is they don't seem to rotate slower than 100mph!!
(only joking, not me ofisher?). No seriously, these are the
first set of alloys I've had that everyone seems to like, it's
also nice to get away from those over inflatted!! priced gold
wheels that every one seems to go mad over!!..

Angry

One week after fitting new tyres (Hankook) to my Sport, ran over a broken door lock lying in the road!! 'Course, the key was still inside the lock and went straight through the tyre. Luckily, puncture repair was possible.

Last week the wife kerbed nearside front wheel - two nicks in the tyre sidewall and a graunched rim. Wasn't best pleased (I was in the passenger seat!). Have got "WICKED WHEELS" coming Saturday to repair the rim (Standard charge of £50 per wheel). Had tyre and geometry checked by Kingsway Tyres (excellant service), both OK.

Exclamation

It's not just wheels that attract damage in the first 6 months. I'm also convinced the same rule applies to the bodywork on a car. For the first few months from new my MY01 seemed to attract a number of tiny stone chips. 6 months on and this seems to have dramatically reduced!

i think Trouser managed to pick a few more sets up, so they will be more than two sets of Rim2000's around on Scooby's

can't swap over, i've already sold my 16" golds!! lol

i've Drimmeled my scuft out this afternoon...and touched it up with some Aluminium paint and the colour is SPOT-ON!!! so one-one will tell now!!! so i'm happy again!

Phil

Cool

I also got a set of these from TSL. Very impressed (with the wheels and the service!). I fitted them last weekend to my MY93 WRX. Went out on Sunday night for a kebab... managed to kerb them on the kerb just outside the kebab shop Worst thing was the kebab shop was shut!! Not a happy bunny!

Excellent wheels, really improve the look of the car over the standard 15's... Now all I need is a high rear spoiler... Then an exhaust... Oh my god! I think I've got the 'mod bug'! Theres no hope now...

B'y heck am I glad to see this thread!

Trouser took advantage of me with these wheels last week when I was so excited about heading out in my Scoob they had just fitted with Eibachs and had caught the "spirit" - before I knew it a full set had appeared on me backseat.

Got 'em home and have been worried about this "rash" decision (great price tho') ever since. Can't decide if I'd been had since I ain't seen another car let alone Scoob with these on (we are taking about the 5-spoke, anthracite/diamond cut jobbies, eh?) and can't decide whether they're too much like the present standard 15" wheels.

My lads, however, think they're Phat, whaddever that means.

If I decide to hang onto them - which this thread helps unless we are forming a group where misery loves company - then I am only waiting for my existing tyres to wear down (17K and still 5 mm left - what a ***** I must be) before I start looking for a good deal on 16" SO2's or F1's.
