Default Put the word out, dodgy type r on ebay!

I went to see this type r last week, the car was in a terrible state and he was asking for 7500 and would not budge! I told him i would at a real big push think about 5500 to 6000 based on the bodywork etc (hadnt even started the thing up) So my price most likely would have gone lower!

Doesnt have the right bonnet, it looked liked it had had a smash, nearside chassis leg iffy! Without a doubt had alot of paint!(overspray everywhere)and needed alot more to fix it! Seats, gaiters, steering wheel, were really bad, looked like they had done well over 100k, the two rear wheels will need replacing. Buckled! He said it had 379 bhp, it didnt have any gauges in it at all! So how would he know whats going on in a car that has nearly 400 bhp! Oh and he forgot to mention that he is trade (pickups, landrovers) and took it as a trade in 2 weeks ago! Cheeky bu**er!

eBay.co.uk: 1998 SUBARU Subaru type R (item 230043877890 end time 03-Nov-06 10:09:33 GMT)

If you know anyone bidding on it please let them know as it will be a wasted journey most likely from halfway across the country knowing ebay!

A big push at 6k? I wouldn't have it for free, it's a minging shed from what you describe. I'd have had a go at the bloke selling it for wasting my time.

I can't help re-reading the add, this car is truely a mess, it needs to be crushed. LOL at the crunching sincro (sic)

The advert is a blatant lie from start to finish and is littered with crap information.

Glad Subaru put a variable diff in "for the snow"

£495 for a rebuilt STi gearbox - does that include fitting mate? LOL!

I can't understand how a sincro (sic) can go in 5th. They normally go in second don't they? Has redlining in 4th at silly speeds and a 'rally' style change into 5th written all over it. New engine time.

AFAIK, it's common on the MY99 type Rs to have a 'crunchy' 5th gear if driving it hard. I know the one above is MY98, maybe they also had this?

Wink

Come on guys, it's only got a LITTLE crunch in 5th gear, and hey, it's a Type R, and does 'nought to sixty in 4 seconds', surely that's enough reason to buy it? And take a tissue to the seller, as he'll be crying to see it go!
