BP Ultimate 102
Has anybody tried this 102 RON petrol BP are selling now?
According to BP website it is the same fuel used by F1 and WRC cars and is road legal.
It is only being sold in 6 garages in England at the moment but will expand to more in the future.
The only downside I believe is the price of £2.40 a litre.
Andy.

PMSL I don't think so, think your find the fuel for WRC cars is about £5.00 a L, and not the same stuff.

petrol
i have tried this 102 ron from my garage in allington near Maidstone Kent.
I have a wrx import and I felt the difference straight away though I only put in £60 worth . The only other way to raise your octane level is buy some octune booster from halfords at £3.99 a bottle and fill up from Tesco (99ron) .
It will be interesting to see when sainsbury bring out their 100ron to see how much they will charge .

I was of the understanding that the most of WRC teams use Carless Hiperflo CF500 Race Fuel?
I usually pay £70 for a 20 litre drum.. so thats £3.50 per litre
I think it would be interesting to see what its like when you start adding ignition advance, I can normally get away with 4 - 6 degrees of advance without seeing any det. Are there any garages up north?

I just can't believe people are using this in their road cars. What's the matter with you all? SUL not expensive enough?
Time and time again on these threads, it has been stated that no normal road car will be mapped to take proper advantage of this fuel. Stop wasting your brass, you feejits.

Agree with bubba. Whoever buys this stuff expecting any noticable gain in performance, should have 'MUG' stamped on their head, and ' PLEASE BE GENTLE' on their lower back!

The only way you'll acheive any BHP gains with 102 is have the car mapped to it. But lets face it, using 99 and some Millers will acheive the same thing and be a damn sight cheaper per fill up. Otherwise all you're really acheiving is less chance of detonation and even worse fuel economy for zeroperformance gain.

I agree, not much point using it if you cant adjust the map to take advantage... which I do using my Apexi Commander and I certainly wouldnt use it day to day basis or even on the road (far too expensive), only when using it on the strip.
If you can adjust the map (by advancing ignition timing) the gains are pretty good actually.
And just to add, I think saying that anyone who buys this stuff is a mug... bit of a sweeping statement that dont you think?

I only did it a couple of hours ago, but I expressed my dissapointment and asked if they had any plans to supply in the North West. If they get back to me I'll post up the response.
