I currently own an RST and want a new car next year, I have considered a Saff Cos but don't want something that old.
There is only one option after that, a Scoob.
I have been looking on the net but there are about a million different models its hard to know what you get with each one?? Basicly I want one with an EVO spoiler. I've seen them on the STi's but I don't think I could insure one of those. I will be 21 next year with 4 years NCD.
Also what does all the 'MY00' stuff mean?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Daisey....err Dayzee
MY00 is Model Year 00 (i.e. 2000).
For some more info on models, please direct yourself to The wonderful Impreza FAQ
When you say EVO spoiler, do you mean the one on the Mitsi EVOs, or the big slightly rounded one, or just a big one?

"MY" means Model Year, and the number indicates that year...So...
MY00 means Model Year 2000
MY01 means Model Year 2001
Helps to identify standard model features.

First port of call should be http://www.sidc.co.uk/faq.htm. I assume insurance isn't a problem, but worth ringing round for quotes.
MY00 means Model Year 2000, MY99 means model year 1999 and so on.

I paid £1200 to insure the RST when I was 19 TPF&T so I don't mind paying for insurance as long as someone will insure me!!
The spoiler on the one in the picture is the sort of thing I want, not the little on you see one older scoobs.
Unfortunalty I won't be able to get one until next summer but I wanted to do some research first, made a mistake rushing into buying the RST and have been paying for it ever since. I swore it would never happen again.
The RST costs a fortune to run. It really takes the pi55, I swear to god it knows when I get paid?!? Are the scooby's expensive if you leave them standard?

They cost a bomb mate!!
I spend more time on the petrol fore court!! 20£ every two days..
It's a pisser, there is a lovely dual carriage way on the way to work every morning.. Hit limiter on in fourth(about 138mph) on a regular basis, then slam into 5th to pull a nice 155mph!!
I run EBC green stuff, thats 65£ every 3000K miles, services every 7500 miles.. 150 then 400 then 150 so on!!
And if u like to go sideways every where like me, 400£ tires every 14000 miles..
Hope this helps,
Pete

Hello Dayzee old chum.
All I can say is I've been here for a number of months on the same mission as yourself, fact/info/opinion finding. It's definately a good place to read about all sorts of things relating to the motor. I assume you'll still be frequenting the FC BB?

Dayzee, when you start looking mate, the spoiler you are interested in is an STI IV one, basically a highline spoiler I think they were called. They were standard from the MY99 onwards IIRC, or obviously, on an import STI IV
A lot of people change spoilers from lo to high, high to lo, high to higher but as a general rule, you'll be looking for the MY99-00/STI IV spoiler on your scoob when you find the one you want.
