Default Newbie looking for help

2003 BUGEYE 1.6

Have exterior nearly completed. Need help as to improve engine/bhp.Only have induction kit fitted.What else would people recomend.

Not being sarky, but my own personal opinion would be to not spend any more and save the money towards a turbo'd model later. Not sure how much you can get out of the 1.6 anyway.

Agree with corradoboy - by the time you pay for the modifications, take on board the possible additional insurance costs if you declare your modifications the costs could quicly outweigh the benefits.

You could probably sell your 1.6 and get into a late classic turbo - insurance and running costs permitting - for not a lot of pounds.

a 2.0 sport engine?

As said, tuning small NA engines the cost very quickly outweighs the benefit

Will a turbo engine fit directly in. Place in Dublin selling for about 3000.00 including fitting

Want to keep car as not a lot of green scoobies around also have a lot of body parts to fit - grill,twin exhaust,fog light cover,front rear lip,roof spoiler etc.

Even if you get the engine in mate you will still be needing to upgrade the other parts of the car brakes etc.

nice to see someone being different on this board keep ya head up!

try
walbro uprated fuel pump
fuel pressure regulator (power boost valve)
2 1/2" full decat and back box (jap style) increase street cred
powerchips ecu upgrade (you have to send ecu away though 4 days to a week max).
top quality oil, leads and plugs.

sorry but i dont know what else could be done with that engine these are just from the top of my head.

Will get fuel pump + boost valvr. Exhause sorted more or less.

oil + plugs ok.What leads would you recomend.

ECU upgrade 4 days to a week - dont know if ill get through the cold turkey.
