Nurburg Hotel
Has anyone stayed here whilst visiting The 'Ring?
http://www.hotel-an-der-nordschleife...h/index_e.html
If not can anyone recommend any hotels within a 40km/30 min drive?
There's 8 of us going in Sept and looking to book somewhere soon.
Cheers

Plenty of places to eat & drink within a short (or slightly longer) walk from Eddys place. There is a good eating place just opposite (under the bridge) that we went to last time . Also the chinese is good (other end of the town thou) & it even sells 'Lady Beers' (eh Floyd )

Its about 20k away from the track but its a nice run to and from it cos its through the valleys etc, and also far away enoguh to be very quiet even on race day (they had truck racing goin on on the proper ring when we were there). about 10 min drive by the way, straight past a petrol station

I stayed in a town called Daun about 10k's from the ring.
Wouldn't recommend the place unless you want a really quiet night, absolutely sod all to do there.

That hotel is not more than 200yds from the Village entrance to the Ring, Just to the Right on Photo below. IIRC will be classed as 1/2 a Lap.
Just by the entrance to the Hotel is a "Burger Bar come Cafe"
Across the road is a brilliant Italian Restraunt
Eating and drinking out is relatively cheap
The bloke who runs it is great and was buildin an Extension on this year.
Most importantly the rooms were very clean, had a fridge and resonbly Price.

Davyb,
That's the Place
PJ,
The octagonal buliding the "Burger Bar Cafe" the 1/2 lap entrance/exit to the Track, is near the Flags. The Italian Resturant is just under the Bridge on the Left.
The Ring main entrance is about 3 miles away
Tony
Most the time to p1ssed to get across the road to the Other Bar

Last time a big group of us stayed about a little way away in a place called Mayschoss. Great little place, very pleasant half hour drive to the 'Ring every morning, nice and quiet if that's what you want, great food and shock horror - you don't have to book it the year before you want to go LOL
ALthough to be fair I was booking for 40 of us so it was kind of tricky getting us all in any nearer.
Another feature of Ex-Muhle, the '1/2 way' area which has been mentioned, is that the ONLY 'Ring-approved recovery firm is based there as well. Handy if you break down and need a tow back close to your hotel, because they are NOT cheap.
