Also below is also the Costing estimates again incase people want to know:
Right here is an outline to costs:
Fuel to and From Dover £#
Ferry or Channel Crossing £150 for this trip
Fuel to Nurburg @ 295 Miles for a Scoob is around 1.5 tanks which in Euro Fuel Prices around £80
Hotel is around £30-40 per night depending on single or double
Food is around £15 perday
Beer and Tequila more importantly is around £15 per night of unlike some of us £30
Fuel in Germany is around 1/3 cheaper than the UK I think, can't remember I was using Diesel power
1 Lap around the Ring is £7, most people buy a 12 lapper around £75 and that will last you more than a day if you’re a 1st timer.
Ring Memorabilia is around £30 if you want some
Travel Insurance is around £20-40
Breakdown Cover is around £20 for trip
Greencard is a must for travelling in Europe and some insurers charge around £15 for one
Please Please don't bring Travellers Cheques, cash is the main thing or credit cards
Extra Curricular activities such as Go Karting are fairly cheap £10-15 for a good laugh.
You also need to be a major Beef or Pork eater to enjoy the local cuisine
Those who are definite for coming please email me and I will book the rooms at the hotel, I was thinking about Eurotunnel this time as its the same price as Seacat. Opinions please???
Closer to the time a full list of attendees will be published, the above is off the top of my head and im sure there a couple of things I may have forgotten.
Remember the Pub doesn't close until its last man standing and they love us
Hope this helps
Cheers

All,
I can only go if I have a couple of people sharing the cost with me. Now does anybody want/need a lift? It worked out well last time, with the ferry and fuel costs being split 3 ways. Makes it cheaper all round!
You can reply to me using the e-mail address in my profile.
Cheers

Harj,
Am I still in time to come on this trip?
Are you handling bookings for the crossing and hotel rooms?
I'd be in my own car (MY95 Turbo) and would prefer a single room if possible but would be willing to share if need be.
Please let me know so that I can book the time off work.
Andrew.
Also sent to Harj via e-mail.

LMN,
You may get more interest if you said which birthday it is that you're going to be celebrating! Sounds like one for you Rich!
Seriously Dawn, you're welcome to travel with me as long as you don't have any serious personality defects, scary eyes or suffer from back pain. We'll have to arrange a meeting point somewhere though. Let me know if you don't get a better offer and we'll sort something out.
Tony
P.S. I reserve the right to throw you out of my car if you b1tch about my driving.
P.P.S. Especially if you b1tch as much as Stef.

Cheers Harj mate! The only time I hold you up is when your recovery truck is quicker than mine. We should hold a sweepstake for June, person most likely to blow up on the way to the 'ring. How is your/Richard's car anyway? I've got some great video footage of my car leaving Sparshatts after just six weeks.....on the back of a recovery truck. Must write that letter to IM.
With regard to "the only female companionship you will get on holiday", you could be right
Confused of Surrey
P.S. I'll call you tonight about the ferries (unless I go out) you DOB.

Hey Harj how ya doing
I was just wondering about the Ferry booking. Do we book it ourselves or in the interests of a mass convoy all being on the same boat or train are you doing the thang and collecting da monies??
If you want money up front then no worries
Please let us/me know as the time is approaching.

Harj,
I hve just had my payslip in and I am (just!) flush enough to make the trip! For reference I would prefer the Eurotunnel as salt water and 14 year old cossies don't really mix! I prolly wont go for the 12 lapper as I am more than a bit intimidated by the 'ring so I will take it slowly for the first couple of laps.
Also, a cople of my friends might be interested in coming. Would a 350bhp Cossie Saff be able to come along?
Also, are there any autobahns enroute where I could max her out?
regards,
astraboy
BTW, are there any places on the circuit where it is reasonably easy to kick the back end out?

MRK,
The plan is to book everything centrally and save a few quids. There will be more details soon. I've been trying to get hold of Harj to finalise a few details and get his OK as he has been speaking to you all, are you there? We are planning to go on the P&O ferry. It's more civilised than the tunnel and you can't miss the last crossing unlike with Hoverspeed. We can also take care of accommodation at the same time.
Astraboy, I don't think that the ferry will give you any saltwater problems as long as we are not tempted to push the Cossies overboard. Try to be on time though. Last time that I went to Germany in an RS500, we missed our ferry. The ticket collector then asked about the car and got a 10 minute lecture on the specification and history of the car. At the end of this lecture he dryly quipped "Still missed the ferry though, didn't you?". The owner's face was a picture.
