Default Hi guys nice forum!Newbe advise please!

Hi & hello guys & gals nice forum u have here!
Bit of a newbi question to be honest!

Basicaly i have just bought a 1996 wrx from japan!

Now here is where it gets tricky!lol
Its STILL there!

Was wondering if anyone could give me some performance figures on these cars & tell me what the difference between a 96wrx & a 96sti

Had a few quick cars in the past ie integrales still have FTO
Wondered how they compair!

Tried google & went around in circles!

Cheers guys

Hi

I too have had an integrale and I now own a 93 Legacy turbo with a good spec better than a wrx and the Legacy is a much more useable car. The Integrale was more fun to chuck about I think but overall I would rather have the Legacy. I must be getting old

The performance figures will be better for the Impreza than the Integrale but the Integrale would probably feel faster.

The Subaru and the integrale are very similar car in the way they drive and handle, pushed the Subaru has slightly more understeer but can easily be driven in a way to reduce it. They both have similar geering and very precise handling, if you liked your Integrale you will love the Subaru also. It's a bit more reliable as well.

cheers guys!

I Have driven a a few UK scoobys & the fto (even though it felt slower to drive)kept up with a mates uk model ALMOST nothing in it!
Had 2x fto's untill last week when i sold one!
Anyway the fto is plenty quick enough for her indoors!lol

Cheers for the link paul

looks like its a 260bhp model then?its a 1996 but i dont know how to tell if its a "face lift model"?

Was kinda hoping it was a 280bhp job!
Any easy power mods which wont blow it to bits!
De cat on my mates seemed to make a noticable diff!

I have just had a extreme scoobies cat replacement pipes and centre section fitted to my 03 wrx and it has given me 40bhp more. Extreme scoobies are really helpful and get the job done quickly.

best option is a decat and remap IMHO. you will have the Z4 ECU so not bad on UK fuel but a remap would make sure and give you 20 more horses. Should not be hard to get 280-ish

decat is easy-ish. Some of the bolts on the underside of the turbo can be a bit tricky. You need a ratchet set with a long extension and a universal joint, and also some WD40. Decat pipes are about 250 quid. Well worth it.

You might be happy without the remap, just a decat, buit best to get a knocklink to keep an eye on it.

Remap costs about 400 quid. Try scoobyclinic, I think they do it. If you have a bit more money go for a Apex Power FC and get it mapped by Andy Forrest (around 750 I think)
