Default NEW IMPREZA NEWS MY06

Hi, just joined the forum, considering getting an impreza. What do we know about the new model UK spec Sti? Is there going to be the 2.5ltr as rumoured in some places? When can we expect to be able to buy one? What is the Spec c ive seen mentioned? is that just available as an import?

thanks in advance

Only cause the dealers want you to think that, They try to scare you in to buying a UK spec cause its easier to service and the parts for the JDM cars are hard to get and they dont service JDM cars,
Well who cares I wouldnt take my scooby to the dealers anyway, there my last choice, I would rather buy a part from a gypsy then go to the dealers for something.

Yip, that was my main concern, After having my99 classic for 6 years I said I'd never have a JDM again because I wasn't sure I could get it serviced, But sod it, just ordered another from Litchfields, and there is a dealership opening soon 2 miles from me selling Type uk, but will service JDM. Times have changed.....for the better.

Some dealers might still do that, but it pays to phone around. My local dealer stocks and supplies parts for imports - I ordered brake pads for mine last week and they even went to far as to check my Japanese chassis number with the factory to make sure they were the right ones.

The best for what?

If you're wanting out and out track spec then the Spec C RA is the one to go for.

My local dealer Oaken Wolverhampton, said they wouldnt service my car because it was a import, and always try getting funny when ever I ask them to order any parts, total waste of time. One of the reasons I would never buy a brand new car from them.

It's worth phoning round a few dealers; one other Subaru garage near me wasn't at all keen on servicing my car and made the usual excuses about parts, diagnostics capability and so on. So, naturally, I use another dealer - it's that simple.

Dealers that make silly excuses are only hurting themselves; at the end of the day, I have a car which is better than the nearest UK equivalent, and no problem at all getting parts or maintenance.

Take a moment, if you like, to look up FUD

My car is a Euro Import, So I very much doubt theres much differance in the UK spec and euro spec, but they seem to think that its a totally differant car for some strange reason. I would rather goto a Subaru specialist then the dealers if I can help it.

dealers know nothing!

They also only care about profit and profit relating to them. The one is leic. has tried to charge me more cash before, saying that they do that for imports and should have bought it from us, so i said heard of tsl, see you later!!!!!

I asked about 2.5 the other week, to be told yes will be here soon, then today its i have been told that they dont think its happening and will be 2007 now!

Do litchfields do part ex?

roflmao, just called the dealer, told him to enter that web address. He then says oh well they do a 2.5 in the US sir, so its probably that (FUD working here!!) so i said, i would believe that if the steering wheel wasnt on the other side of the car, and this is a european import?!?!? I then said your not using FUD on me are you! Told them taht i would go jap if no 2.5 and suddenly they are looking into it.
