They're a great car mate, especially the ST205 - last generation. Can be run much more economically than a Scooby too. Not to mention they look infinitely better and are much rarer.

They have great drive chains and engines. You have not said which one, although I guess your talking about an St205 with 255bhp (which almost standard then.)
A major problem I found when test driving them, (ST185) was that it was way too heavy to be a decent rally bred road car.
Coming from a Pulsar I was very dissapointed in performance terms, however that was built to a lower standard.
If you want a bomb proof, fast-ish, 4x4 turbo that looks sleek not agresive, IMHO that these are good cars. The head on the ST205 is also claimed to be a master piece for what its worth.
Kam- all my 2 rupees worth of course.

For the record.. A lot of the Jap high BHP Supras run with GT4 (ST205) engines as they're one of the best around.
DazW is referring to the 'dreaded' figure-8 suspension parts on the front of the GT4 - A bit of a nightmare for the 50/60k vehicles but at least you know they're going to fail at that sort of point (think MAF's on 99/00 Scoobies and VANOS units on M3 EVO's).
Just one point I'd make to Kam; if the ST185 was such a lardy piece of crap how come it's still one of the best looking cars to win the WRC?
In case you haven't noticed I like GT4s

Played with 3 when I had my scooby which existed in various states of tune between 215bhp and 275bhp and I nailed them all. Only one gave me anything of a challenge but he still got skinned - they never impressed me TBH.

I had a run against one in my old UK Turbo PPP. Not a great deal in it over roads that weren't particularly twisty - I was a little faster but possibly I knew the roads better. Finally overtook it after a sharp bend leading onto a long straight but it took a little while to get past.
I've always liked the look of them but never had a chance to drive one.

I had a 1994 GT4 ST205 WRC with a chip, exhaust, and filter, and 18" Superleggeras. It would have anhilated my 04 WRX PPP. The Scooby is easier to drive fast, but give the GT4 ten tenths and it was far more rewarding to drive, felt more special, and was built to a better standard.

im glad to hear alot of honesty..
LOOK at my name.. and look at what i have gone and bought..
this one in the website is MINE NOW. its got 18" OZ Superleggers on it now..
www.st205.net
I have had a 185 and distroyed a WRX and honestly i now kick alot of STIs etc.
not been beaten YET by a scoob.
the GT4 st205 is the ONE not the best looking as i think the 185 was, but far superior to it. check out my site and u will see all the mods. shes running 337 with the CAT in!!
getting a Downpipe and she will be even more fun any questions on GT4s please ask
it took me a while to get this as i saved up for a TYPE RA scoob. BUT this is the one for me.
